Does anyone have any experience with the SPC camber plates?  If so was it good or bad?  Thanks.

Oh and one more thing, the camber is really only out on the passenger
side, can I just replace that plate and not have to worry about the
other?  I'm only looking to fix the current problem not looking to
change the car much after that, kind of a set and forget type deal.

yes joe...as we were putting them in, one of the stupid !pressed in studs pulled right out...needless to say they were returned...thats when we came up with the alternative method...slotting the control arms so ball joint can move....you may get enough using the ford "crash" bolts though...supposed to be good for about one degree...

"crash" bolts, I don't believe I've ever heard of this?  Any
information on where I could find out more about this.  I don't
need much more than one degree either way.  I only really need
about 1 degree of positive.

yeah, the rear alignment was fixed by ford installing a revised rear
upper control arm that added +1 degree of camber to that, I never
noticed the front had an issue, but I must have had so many alignment
problems with the car that it was just masked by another, this seems to
be the only thing left, it hasn't "destroyed" the tire, but if left
long enough with the mileage I drive it might.  I spent $60 for
one SPC camber plate ( I realize only using one is probably not a great
idea, but it was all I could afford right now) but if the "crash" bolt
will work, I'd like that idea if it's cheaper.

I searched through FJ for crash bolt and only found a couple of posts
that said bad things about the SPC camber plates, any where I can get
some more information on how and where to get the crash bolts and what
they do and how they accomplish it?

Sorry to ask a ton of questions, but I know that you have a wealth of knowledge more than I do on this topic.

ahh 2 years back, yeah I didn't go back that far, probably should have
thought of that.  Thanks Gary, I'll call my dealership today and
see what I can find out from them.  Do you think I'd get a good +1
degree of camber or are we talking about less than that?  I just
want the stupid car to not chew through $100+ tires in a mere matter of
months.

what i read was is that they are good for about 1/2 degree...they are used to realign cars that...well, have been crashed...but combined with the svt suspension it is said you can get about -2 on a zx3

I wanna go positive on the camber side, I'm running pretty negative right now, great for handling not so great for tire wear.

The camber is pretty bad I'd say, you can visibly see the wheel angled
in.  Do you think this would be enough to fix the problem, or do I
need the camber plates?  Alternatives?

I really hate the focus...why couldn't Ford make it so you can adjust the alignment like on all the other cars I've ever owned.

I don't mind the brain power part, I mind the wallet power part of fixing the silly idiosyncracies of the Focus.

Does the SVT have the same similar problems as this?

big time...when you are the first to do something, it is an uncharted route...everything from having custom brake pads made to good spring rates....started as a showroom stock setup and moved on to an improved touring one

does it rain everytime  we go to an Auto-x here in maine??;)

yeah, my camber is off, passeneger rear side is the only one thats off, and its only out of line by .4 deg.  all of the others are inside the "ideal" margins, and i have yet to notice any uneven tire wear as of yet...going on  2+months with the wheels on, probably about 4k miles, and they look  good...so far

(knock on wood)
