That's what I figured, the SVT wheel has it, but I've been thinking.  The larger number is going to pull the wheel in closer to the hub isn't it? now I'd be worried about rubbing if that was the case, course if it pushed it out away from the hub, I'd be worried about rubbing on the quarter paneling.  Tough call.

Hi & welcome to TF. :wave

Wheels & tires are always a trade-off. All sizes have their good & bad points.

Many Focus owners, (myself included), think that 17" wheels look better. They fill the wheel wells more fully than the 15 or 16 inchers do. The drawbacks are that tires are significantly more expensive as the size goes up. If you get 17's, my suggestion would be to hang on to your 15's or 16's. Winter tires, or even all-season tires are next to imposssible to find in 17" size.

18 inchers? I wouldn't even consider them. There have been many issues with rubbing reported, they'll accelerate more slowly, (mostly due to increased weight), and the tire prices   will have you searching for a 2nd or maybe 3rd job.

Hope this helps you.  Stick around and post some. This is a fairly small, but friendly & knowledgeable group of folks.

One other thing to remember.

You might not be worried but with you having a LX and the SPI motor the car might seem slower with larger tires/rims on it. I know a kid who has a LX and got some low profile 15" tires for his car to gain a bit more gear and speed. Just a FYI on somthing to think about.

I know that they're the schnizzle these days, but personally, I just don't like dark rims. I've seen a lot of them & IMO they just make your wheels disappear. Just my $.02.

That being said, my favorites from the pics above are:

1st     the last one

2nd    the 1st one
