I'm a Bowtie girl at heart though. He used to own a 57 Belair, Now that was a classic. Now tell them about the Gremlin you used to drive and got center punched in with me in the car.
It was a 210 57 Chevy, that's right you were in the Gremlin that old guy ran into. Hey that worked out great, with the insurance money I bought the rocket; 1969 Dodge GTS 340. Man that car was fast, I am still pissed I didn't hold on to it, they are worth lots of money. The next project after the Challenger is a big block A body, 620 HP!
It is my pleasure, I have been on the web for a long time, but I am new to web chat. You sound pretty cool, I have been in to muscle cars for a long time. The Chevy was OK, but Mopar always takes on race day. My one rule is if I leave this earth due to a car, it must be a classic muscle car! What is a bowtie?
Challenger??? I thought it was a Charger. But didn't Mopar have like 3 body types but more models? I know th eRoad Runner is a B body. Is the Charger/Challenger B body also?
Mopar decided to make a special body style that would take any motor, 340, 383, 440, 426 hemi. They used to just shoe-horn them into A bodies, the hottest older car ever made was the 68 hemi dart, the thing ran 10 second qrt right out of the show room! Only die-hard racers even know about these cars, fastest thing on the street or track. Ran that time with no boost and with carbs.
They took the A body that was typical for Demon's, darts, Dusters etc, made it slightly longer and wider, longer wheel base, hence the E body. Challengers and Cuda's are the only E's, (the price for these due to limited supply is going thru the roof)!
B's are Roadrunners, (I want a 69, one of the coolest cars ever made) Chargers, GTX etc. There is also a C body, Polara, the really big boats. Mopar made some really hot, light, no frills race cars they call streetable. Most of them couldn't be touched by Chevy's, Fords, etc. I beat an older style Mustang with a 427 stuck in it by a body length in my 340 GTS. Rick never road in it when I put in the lower gears and better carb, it was hell on wheels! My Challenger is pretty healthy, hot running 340.
The Chevy sym is a bowtie! Those things never win any races, I had to switch to the winning side. I can't even see that Bow tie in the rear view, too far behind!
Speakin of Mopar's, my friends millionaire boss just bought a lime green Superbird, 440 Super Commando. Car was mint, 125K I think. Everything worked, 'cept tha horn! LMAO. Go figure. mmmmbeepbeep
Cool! About 12 years ago my friend's friend owned a Superbird, (the Richard Petty car)! I think he picked it up for just a couple of grand at the time. They are now worth so much $$$, it is crazy.
