Ok, so it's been gorgeous here and I spent the last 2 days cleaning
every nook and cranny on my darling Focus... well I didn't vacuum the
carpets yet, but I did that recently. It hadn't had a bath in (gasp)
months, and I felt so guilty, but it got clay, polish, wax, Rain-X,
Windex, cleaned dash and conditioned leather!

Also, for probably the first time since I got the car everything I have
bought for it is installed, not sitting in various parts of the house
(ok, except my Tribute handles)! And tint goes on the 15th, % to be
determined!

Without further adu, pictures... there's a bunch, but I did leave some out. I got shutter-happy this afternoon:

House reflected on the Focus booty!

Bit the bullet and tackled engine cleaning!

Oooooo, shiny

Gross stock header, maybe gone soon?!

Still dirt near the coils-on-plugs... not sure how to clean it out?

Graduate flamingo my aunt got me... it scares away birds... Scare-flamingo

I even realized my digicam has a video feature and took a clip of my Borla catback in action (from the pavement)!

Very nice!

The heat is too much for me.  I can't detail in 80+ degree heat and sopping wet humidity.  kicks my butt, but I'm gonna try to get the bugs off the car today.  nothing like washing a car, having bugs slam into it and then bake while at work.

Not to mention this car of mine hasn't seen a claybar yet nor my 5 coats of wax like usual.

Very nice Amanda...I like your Hood...who makes it?  How do you
like it...I like the fact it doesn't need hood pins.  I've been
looking but haven't found a hood I like...

It's a CarbonFibreFX.com hood... the lack of hood pins was really the clincher for me, I just don't like their look at all.

Its fitment is 100% perfect, I didn't do anything except screw in the
latch and attach the hood with the 4 bolts at the corners. Oh yeah,
then I popped the nozzles into their holes and was done. It's quite a
bit lighter, I'd guess this one is 12 pounds, and the stock is just
under 35!

Thanks for the comments all!

Oh and Chelly, it got detailed Wednesday and Thursday ealry morning,
especially Wed. it was less humid than the rest of the week, and where
I was in my yard it was shaded with a nice light breeze going by... I
woulda died if I did it anytime after 11AM on Thursday! Good ole New
England humid summers!

Of course she's already covered in a gross layer of pollen, I've hosed
it off and quickly dried before the car waterspotted for the past
couple days... not obsessive at all!:P

oh, nice car too!! :P

i like the headlights.. i gotta get mine in soon.. did you by any
chance cover them with anything so they wouldn't get dinged or
sratched? if so, where'd you get it?
and how much was the hood?

(chelly+dan, don't worry, you'll get your rent way the hell before i get any of those.. minus the headlights..)

Hood on GB was about $600 shipped.

I have thought of buying Lamin-X protectant film from focussport.com
but I'm not really sure if I'm going to. Neither set of headlights have
gotten injured in 2 years, other than the expected bug corpses that
wash off!

The car looks and sounds good.  Have you ever thought of painting the brake calipers.

That is a nice site to host video, what is the max file size you can
host?  I got my new HKS SSQV installed and want to share the
wounderful sound with all the TF'ers.

I'm not sure the max file size. Mine was 1471 kb, so they took that...
I just figured I'd try to upload and see if it worked, I didn't bother
seeking out file sizes, it seems pretty lenient overall.

Oh and brake calipers might the the next little Focus project I attempt.

Ya, painting the calipers adds a little extra to the look of the car.

BTW Amanda, do you live near Bryant College?  The road you took those pics on looks like where my buddy Seth lives.

I live about 15 minutes north of Bryant (University now!)... I don't
know any Seths on this block, and there's only about a dozen houses, so
I'd know him! It looks like typically northern RI though...

I'm debating caliper colors, I'm thinking dark blue, or maybe silver.

Got the tint done today, 20% all around, with nothing on the
windshield. Here's pic in the overcast and drizzly sky, about an hour
after I picked her up:

I might cling-tint or Niteshade those puppies... their stockness
doesn't bother me too bad, but they are the Only red thing on there,
kinda out of place.
