hey guys just curious looking to upgrade my ignition system ne ideas.  I was gonna go with ford racing wires but I have found out there is so many other good wires available: such as Nology but there is another wire company who makes wires just for focus so i'd say they would have to be good.  Which would you all recomend and ignition boxes and coils i have no clue about so some input would be very helpful.

Justin

I have the FR wires on my car and they are nice because they came in the correct lengths. Some wires you buy you have to cut them to lenght, which is a pain.
Unless you are going for looks there is little reason to upgrade the ignition system on our cars. You won't get any power and imo there are better ways to spend the cash.

I also have the Ford Racing 9mm wires. It IS very handy to have them come in the correct lengths. When I installed them, I noticed a difference instantly. I'm not claiming any power or performance gains, but they made the car "electric motor" smooth. It's a nice mod, for not too much money.

I had the FR wires with NGK Iridium wires and as Mr. V said it really smooted out the engine.  I know have Magnacore wires and NGK plugs (non iridium) on my Miata.

Focus Sport makes some for the focus, and there is the Screamin' Demon coil and wires, which would replace both the wires, and the coil obviously, but you'd have to change the gap on the plugs because of the higher charge. I have the Ford Racing plugs on my car.

I agree with the screamin' demon... they have reported an almost 2 to 5 hp gain in certain applications. that's without irridium tip spark plugs... so getting a more controlled burn helps a lot... i believe that the ignition system is a very IMPORTANT thing to spend you money on
