TC Kill Switch
I just purchased the following items...
(1) EFX 30 Amp Fuse Holder
(1) 20 ft of 12 gauge wire
(1) 30 amp switch
(1) 30 amp fuse (Standard blade NOT mini)
(2) 12 Gauge wire spades
(2) Female/Female 12 gauge wire sleves
---
$20 from Autozone (Would be cheaper but spades and such came in bulk)
What I will be taking pictures of and documenting for everyone on June 25th...
Wiring a switch to the interior of the car to kill the F-12 Fuse. It should not be switched on the fly, but can be easily turned off and on to kill the fuse. I will make this as USER friendly as possible, the whole job should not take more than 10 min.
If you are unsure of what the Traction Control is how it works, or why the switch does not kill the TC under 20mph please search the forums or search in google Traction Control and SVT Focus, trust me you will get LOTS of stuff to read up on...

OK boys and girls, as promised, I wired this all together this weekend, works great!!! OMG you should feel the difference in launch!! WOW! And I tried switching it off and on on the fly, it just takes a few seconds for the computer to rescan the circuit. Switching it on the fly did not give me any problems at all. It was great I was slamming outta left turns then boom TC back on, get to a red light, TC off...good luck all! By the way if anyone tries this I am not LIABLE in anyway for what you do to your car, what happens to your car, or anything. Do this at your own discretion. I had no problems with it at all, but I am not going to take responsibility for your car if you somehow manage to mess something up. The whole job took less than 3 min.

just a question on the parts needed....the TC fuse (46?) is only 7.5 A..is there a reason for using the 30 A and 12 G wire? i asked the guy i usually deal with for parts about it after i saw the 7.5 A fuse, and he recommended 18 G wire and only the 7.5 inline fuse? jus wanted to know before i went and did anything if there was a reason for the larger wire and fuse. thanks

very nice how to youve posted the glass inline fuse definately makes this a 15 minute project. however, instead of using the 12G wire and 30A fuse, i used the 7.5A fuse and 18G wire, works fine, and switches on the fly. thanks again for the how to
Originally I was planning on killing the fuse in the Engine Compartment which would require the heavy duty fuse and gauge wire. Once I realized the inner compartment fuse 46 would do the same thing, I downgraded all my equipment. Thats why the link I made shows the lower gauge material.
I was just looking at this today as I had a short cut link to it on my desktop. Can we perhaps put this in the how-to's if its not already or sticky it?

Awsome. Maybe if I dont forget about it I can make a PDF file out of it and we eventually get it moved to the how-to section. I am very proud to belong to a board that has such an extensive and very useful how-to section and Im all about helping keeping it current if I can.
