Bad News - Sunday a friend came by with his newly installed Powerworks Supercharger in his 03 SVTF ZX5...let me tell you...very fast, pulls like a freight train....what the SVTF should have been like from the factory...He and another friend installed it in a weekend basically...the bad news is it's not installed on my SVTF.

Good News - He wants to trade his center exit Borla exhaust with diffuser for my Borla exhaust with stock diffuser in hopes of quieting his down using his ORP pipe...it's happening this Friday night...thanks to Jeremy....who is letting us use his garage...and whose Focus Sedan is by far the nicest around.

That Powerworks SC is something!

I drove their Orange SVT when I went to Southbend - you aren't kidding it pulls like a freight train...it's nuts compared to a stocker.

I know their F-Force for the 2.0 Zetec is on sale right now...lol - on sale!:clap

Hmmm I may have to save up for this Powerworks charger.

Think he might let me test it before I go headstrong down that route?

Did you know that they have a financing plan for up to 1 year?

Look into it if you have some to put down already. You could be rockin' the kit soon then.

I think I will look into it.

I questioned one guy about it and he wants it paid in 3 months which I can't do but maybe a year.

I think it might be dirrectly through power works though.

Checked on financing and I would have to go through one of the vendors that offers financing.

As for numbers.

The Zetec kit pushes the car to 200-220HP(I think that is flywheel HP).

The SVT and Duratec kits will odviously get you to a higher number. I'm gonna gurss in the 250 range, maybe higher. Unless the 220 is the SVT number????

Here is the numbers as listed from Powerworks.

SVT

“We are seeing 251 bhp at 7000 RPM, and 210 pound per feet of torque on the engine dyno”.

Zetec

We are seeing 220 bhp at 6800 RPM, and 200 pound per feet of torque, which is what we predicted early on,”

I can tell you your top end speed isn't going to change just because you get a SC.

Sure it will! The gearing on the SVT is limited to a max of 165mph or something similar. But with our power and a mile or 3 can only get up to ~140ish. But if you bump up the power we will be able to get closer to 160 in the same distance or shorter.

I think you'll be able to get there faster but I doubt the Focus will hit 160. And a SC provides more power but the gearing will still be the same. I bet at 140 ish your RPM's are damn near pegged.

Whats the SVT's rev limiter set at, 7200? Like I said there isn't any way that car is going to hit 160 (20MPH+) with 1K RPM range. Also even if you could get the car moving at 160mph, don't blink, the car is by no means set up to hit speeds like that. The body stlye itself isn't going to react well.

Rev is set at 7250, but some of the tuners bump it up to 8000 or 8200.

There really is no need for this type of speed, but... someone was curious. That is just the answer.

Yeah! there is no need for 160. I was a little more curious about 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. I would guess maybe in the low 6's to high 5's for 0-60 and maybe 13's to 14's for 1/4 mile. Does that sound about right to everybody?
