sorry lads but i still cant believe usa still has the mk1 focus the mk2 has been out since early 2005 and there is already some plans for a mk3 in 2009 seen some early pics looks smart
Ya in 05 they put new sheetmetal on to somewhat look like the Euro version on the front and only made minor chenges to the mk1 platform so it is that much differant that 06+ cannot use 00-04 suspension parts. I beleve the 05 can use 00-04 suspension parts.
I think ford US is planning on either mk2 or mk3 for 2009 or 2010. Hell there even thinking of a 4 door and wagon version of the Mustang for 2011.
Don't know what ford is doing but I don't really like it. I read somewhere that Ford wants to do somthign with the US Focus but dosen't want to put any mony into it. That kinda defeats the purpose. ford is going to loose the customer looking for perforamnce in the US but they don't care because the Trucks and Mustang are there bead and butter vehicles. New for 08 in the stated is a twin turbo diesel for the 3/4 Ton and larger trucks. They put an extra turbo on the work truck and take a whole performance (2.3L) motor away from the smaller car. I guess I'll be buying a truck I can fit a Focus into the bed of and slap on some propain injection and have a 12 second 1/4 mile truck with twin turbos...
