Very soon I am getting deployed to Iraq, I will be over there for 15 months, so it kinda of gives me lots of time to get things done to my car that I want to get done. I currently own a 02 SVT with a Jackson Racing SC, AEM cam gears, Borla Exhaust and H & R suspension. The guy I bought the car from said he had everything port and polished and that it has JE Pistons, Im not really sure about the port and polish or the JE pistons. I am wanting to upgrade the performance GREATLY. I think I have a problem with my SC because I'm holding 20 pounds of vaccum and only getting 11 pounds of boost when I floor it, Im not really sure what could be causing that, I am also getting fluid around my 1 and 2 spark plug and Im sure I have a bad gasket or seal somewhere on the lower part of the block. Also when I shift, sometimes it feels like its a dry shift, you know feeling very rough when it goes into gear, and sometimes its like the clutch releases without me releasing the pedal when shifting. Im running a stock clutch which Im sure is robbing ALOT of my whp. If you guys could hook me up with some ideas to make my SVT an even bigger Import Killer I would appreciate it, and where I can find these products. I know one thing is headers, I want to go with shorty headers, but I have no idea who has the best ones. Thanks in advance.

First off, welcome to teamfocus.

Second off, please come back alive from the sandbox, and thank you for serving our country.

Third off, thank you for using punctuation!

Sounds like you have your hands on a nice little Honda killer, but of course, there is always room for improvement!

11psi sounds right for the JRSC. In all honesty, the JRSC is garbage. It is a great beginner s/c, but it is too small to make any serious power. It is an Eaton M45, which is designed for up to a 2.4L engine. The Powerworks s/c is better, it is an M62, which is designed for up to 3.0L engines, and can make a lot more power.

But it is expensive. That being said, you CAN make more power with your JRSC. Jackson Racing makes a "big boost kit"- but before you buy this, you want to make sure you have lower compression pistons at the minimum, especially on the SVT.

A nice racing header + flex pipe (with cat eliminator) will really help too. A shorty header will help a little, but not as much a s a good race header + flex pipe. Yes, it will be loud, and no, it won't pass emissions. But this will free up a lot of horsepower. I recommend something like this: Ebay FC header / flex pipe

Then, once you have these things done, get a good dyno tune with the cam gears.

Wait, speaking of cam gears, are you SURE it has the cam gears? The SVT intake cam is not compatible with adjustible cam gears. You probably only have an exhaust only cam gear.

Oh yeah, the clutch. Get a decent clutch. ACT makes a good clutch for fairly cheap. Or if you have the money, get a clutch / flywheel combo. This will free up the engine a little.

If you REALLY want to make some extra power, you could spend the money on the Ford Racing cyl. head + some good boost cams, people like the FR stage 2 cams.

As far as your leaks, the oil around the plugs is "normal". It's because the plug wires "seal" the hole in the valve cover, and don't do a particularly great job. The "dry shifts" are again, "normal". I experience these even in my '06. You might try re-tightening / adjusting the shifter cables, and some people like to remove the counterweights on them. Some people like that mod, some don't, it's all a matter of taste. Your leak around the bottom of the block could be the oil pan or just runoff from the valve cover, the plastic valve covers leak like no tomorrow.

Anything I missed?

ok, he has an 02 SVT...
the s/c is an eaton m62, not the 45 as on a regular zetec. even if it had a bbk its still running too much vacuum and boost. for stock jrsc it should be about 12 vacuum and 5-6 boost, jrsc w/ bbk should still have about 12 vacuum and around 8-9 boost.
reason its doing this is the cam timing is off, not hard to reset.
do you have just an adjustable cam gear on the exhaust? or both cams? either way, something isnt set at zero.
and why would you want to go to a shorty header when the svt has a tuned long tube?

sounds like it needs to have the cam gears and tune done on a dyno.
running stock jrsc at 5-6psi on my 02 i've done a best of 14.06.
definitely something not right with yours
wait, was it ever dyno tuned or are you running the black box that came with the jrsc?

Especially with a s/c, he'll still gain hp with a header. The SVT header is perfect n/a, but s/c'd you need more flow.

Your exhaust only flows as good as it's tightest restriction.

I say race header, flex, and trubendz 3" all the way.

dyno tests show the only header that outdid the svt stock header was a focus sport tri-y design, and it wasnt by much, couple of hp. money is better spent elsewhere.
mined running detuned 196whp with stock header, orp, bassani catback and at 5 pounds of boost.
