Okay, i have a friend of mine that's trying to convince me to put methanol injection on my Foci. I know the benefit that it will give me. But i'm just not comfortable with the WATER part of a water/methanol injection kit. Yes, i know it will help lower boost temps. Because we all know that when air is compressed, it heats up. I don't feel comfortable with nitrous, and i have reservations with installing methanol. My friend told me that methanol is nothing more than windshield washer fluid, and that you don't necessarily HAVE to tune for it. But to get the most benefit from it you couldtune for it. Is this the same for nitrous? Do you HAVE to tune for nitrous or can you jsut go spray happy with it at the strip? Mind you, this will be going on my daily driver. So most likely i'm going to go with the methanol. if i go with anything. I was told that Snow Performance was one of the best to go with. Does anyone else have any other suggestions/recommendations/hints/tips/ideas?

Aquamist makes very good pumps and complete systems...if you search around, there are forums dedicated to this stuff. as for tuning, you'd have to tune for both. even a wet nitrous system will need modification to the timing tables, and the dry system will need fuel map changes, as well as timing map mods for both.  with meth or water injection, you don't necessarily have to tune for the spray, but if you don't, all you will be doing in giving yourself an increased margin of safety. meth/water is nothing to be scared of, its relatively safe. but tuning your on boost or WOT timing maps will yield the greatest gains with meth/water. alot of guys will tune the systems to ru without meth/water on lower boost, and tune WOT maps with the meth/water running. look at it like this: if you drive around running 8psi with no meth, you can use a hobbs switch to trip the meth/water to lick in at any boost over 8-9psi, at which point yo may be able to run 12psi or more when tuned correctly. don't quote me on those figures, as i'm used to cars that were boosted from the factory, and with lower compression, among other things, there is more boost to be had, so to speak. i know a few guys with 4G63's running excess of 30psi on pump gas and meth injection, and a few running 25+ on pump alone....it all depends on your setup...hope that helps.

Just get some autolite plugs.  Go two stages colder and you should be good to go!  I ran an 75 shot for a long time with no damage.  I have 03 svt

nitrous + turbo - tuning = molten slag of destroyed engine.  Anyone telling you that you don't need to tune with nitrous is a moron and will most likely end up laughing at you when you nuke your engine.  With methanol/water injection you are reducing intake temps so that you can increase your boost (without you wouldn't be able to run as much boost) so theoretically it is safe to run methanol/water injection, because it won't really ADD anything to your system, the risk is when you do tune a methanol/water injection system, because you then tune the system to expect the methanol/water injection and increase the boost, if you were to run out of methanol/water for example, you could do some damage because your boost would be higher than you should be running at the higher intake temps.

Nitrous is a power adder.  When nitrous is added to the intake stream the effect is added oxygen (the real reason for nitrous isn't the N's it's the O's).  If you don't tune with nitrous, your car will have tons of added oxygen that there isn't enough fuel to combust with resulting in a lean condition, lean conditions lead to knocking, and worst of all detonation, it's only a matter of time before you throw a rod or turn your block into swiss cheese.
