thinking about getting a set of BF Goodrich ScorcherT/A s for the ZX5. Tirerack has them on special for $59 bucks a piece and they are rated pretty high for dry and wet traction.

has anyone ever run these on any of their cars or have any experience with them?

woohoo, you'll love em!
bought a full set in georgia and drove to south dakota on them. excellent when dry. got a little leary in the rain till i found they handled that without a problem. looking at them you'd think they'd hydro pretty easy on wet roads but they don't, just don't overdrive them in the rain (you'll get a feel for them).

Bad news is snow and ice. if you look at the m&s rating its non existent. and take that literally.

hmmm, no problems here. over 5k on them right now and no sign of wear (even with the burnouts).

tires i've found from experience to stay away from are...
falken ziex, firestone firehawk, these were on the sedan. now i'm running firestone affinities on it.
forget what were on the svt before the scorchers.

then again, seems some expect the same life from a performance tire as they do a street tire. it's a tradeoff between performance and treadlife...

I have heard good things about the scorchers. We were going to put them on Chelly's car untill I could not find yellow ones and Tire Rack told me they were discontinued(not sure if thats true or if just yellow was discontinued).

I have BFG GForce Sports on my car and have no problems and survived my first Auto-X. The GForce Traction is the all season version of the Sport.

I love my BFG's. Traction Control V's. Good tires. Wearing extremely well.

think i'll give them a try. even if they last 15-20K i'd rather buy new rubber at a reasonable price and change while they still have tread left,  than buy expensive tires and run them til they're bald. i can replace these twice for the cost of one set of new michelins. my daughter isn't running the car hard anyway and i like the wet traction rating for here in florida.

thanks for the replies. i'll keep you posted on results.
