so i'm think of painting my stock svt wheels black. i have three ideas; all black, leaving the outside lip edge silver and painting the rest black or making a template that goes around the base of the spokes and just painting the centers black. my car is black so i think black will look real good and make the car kinda mean looking. what do you all think?

Black wheels with silver lips are very nice.
That gets my vote.

I say paint them black with the lip masked off so it stays silver... that's an awesome look on wheels, methinks. And then against the car the lip would just have a little "pop" against the black-out theme.

Gloss black with a silver lip would look great.

Dark wheels just don't do it for me. IMO, it just makes your expensive wheels disappear. I don't like chrome either. Just silver, or polished silver.

audiojunkie, your wheels look great! did you polish the lip of your wheel or are they like that from the factory? i'm worried that my svt wheels wouldn't look as good cause the lip would be silver instead of polished...:?

i went ahead and painted the wheels, i used duplicolor gloss black with the clear duplicolor high performance wheel coating. i washed them, masked off the outer lip and sanded them with 400 grit. i did alot of thin coats of black and then a few coats of clear. they look amazing, it changes the whole look of the car, i love it. i'll post some pictures soon.

audio, those wheels look awesome in black. Hey, does anyone have the 03 16inch rims painted black? I was thinking of doing this to my rims to match the Pitchblack color. Thanks in Advance.

I feel like I've seen that before, but I'm not sure where... it looked really good though. I *think* this car was silver and left the chrome cap unpainted, it was a nice look.

I used the Duplicolor Graphite wheel paint to do my SVT wheels. I also have a black focus and I really like the way they look together. I also sprayed my calipers gloss black at the same time to make them a little more presentable..

Which SVT wheels, the original ones? Sounds nice, I agree the dark wheels with polished lip look REALLY good on most Foci.
