My cousin said the same thing when I toldhim I wanted a CF hood on my baby......LOL Its funny to hear the same thing again. I wanna do the hood, but am starting my mods on the inside first so it will be awhile before I do it, but I like the look of the unpainted for the most part. There are a few cars (chevy Lumina) that look really bad with it unpainted. I think that certain cars can go with the unpainted and look really nice!!!! Just my ;2cents

hi mr v. why would any body want to paint carbon fiber? cf is beutiful plain naked, besides you can get picked for the ride of the month if you don't paint it. i also got some unpainted cf bicycles, greg lemond, treck, and giant.if i wanted to paint cf, i would of left the car stock looking just like everybody else's foci. i gues sometimes we make the wrong choices and i will never learn.:fusincerely, yannio-ypd motorsports.:fu

I don't have any CF frames, but I do have CF parts on my bikes. My latest addition is a CF fork for my DeRosa. I painted it the original color the steel fork was.  :D

Im with you.  CF is for function to be a lighter substance for racing.....to have it unpainted is shenanigans.  UNless the WHOLE car is carbon fiber then that is different by ALL means go ahead...but the carbon fiber whos without the paint to match the vehicle looks like a a a a work in progress not a force to be rekoned with.

ever seen how much weight paint adds?  its alot more than youd think. you have a primer coat, several paint coats, clearcoat.not to mention on hoods and such that have some flex to them paint gets cracked and screewd up pretty easy.

looks like a work in progress not a force to be rekoned with.
most would beg to differ on this....:D

I remember when cars having aluminum hoods, fenders, etc. were a big deal. Nobody that I can remember left them bare.

well, i guess it all comes down to personal preference on how one's self wishes to express their own ideas. this is how i want my time attack focus to look like. if it is a sore eye to others, then fear no further for with 339lbs of trq and 329 lbs of hp to the wheels you will not sufer much, except for the smell of burning rubber and racing gas lingering in your nostrils. yours trully ypdmotorsports. :gofast
