Let me check into the price for that. But the last price I saw on something like that was like around $900-$1200

I know I've heard VIS put out a quote on that piece, don't remember what it was, but I'm pretty sure it was in triple digits, not 4!:P

Does that piece include a Lexan or glass rear window or do you need to buy one or transplant your stock!? Because that would seem like a major PITA. I think this could look nice on certain Foci with CF hoods already... bit of a continuity theme going on ya know?

Yes Amanda, this is the one from VIS Racing. I am not sure if it comes with the Lexan glass or not. Would look hot on my Pitchblack Focus ta boot.

OK, well direct from their site it says:
Please call 626-839-9833 for purchase/pricing

Or I found this post by gthang on FF, he's all sorts of into the CF scene:
One website was selling them for $550 USD... I know its a bit steep, but it's a big piece. But it certainly go well with my carbon fiber cargo cover!! See my photo gallery for pics of the cargo cover! And I still could buy the carbon fiber fenders and hood and whatever else is out there.
From this thread.

Or this site has it for $499

I know people who bought a VIS cf hood and its fit wasn't perfect. I would be very nervious about buying a cf tailgate. If a hood doesn't fit right that is one thing but a tailgate is another.

I heard the same thing... well in that above thread someone saw one at a show or something and mentioned such. I'd be wary as well, especially with fitting glass into it and everything, seems liek too many variables that could go wrong:?

Well you only need half a grand... if you don't want a window! I'm sure some cleverly laid Saran wrap would do jsut as well:P

Based on your "edits" to your avatar, I definitely think yours would be one of the cars this would look nice on.

Haha, I just wish I could figure out how to take the pictures off of my new digicam so I could update my avatar pic!
But yeah, that would be great.
But I might need the backglass- I have 2 large dogs and a child (and that pesky husband) to haul around with me and one of them would end up climbing through it lol!

hi everybody,i have the very same cf hatch from vis(see april's rotm site) they will accept the same rear glass from your stock hatch. yes, they do not fit as good as your oem w/out alot of work @ patiance, after all that they will not fit perfect, they are about 1/4 shorter all around. yes, they are beutiful. ground dynamics have it for under $500. if you are not happy w/it after you get it home,it will be nearly impossible for you to return it bck. so, be very aware, they tell you that it is a custom piece @ absolutely no returns, you keep what you get period! it,s a bunch of bs. we had lots of regrets dealing w/this body kits co. that's why we stopped where we are at w.body kits, although some crbon fiber fenders would be nice. sincerely ypd motorsports.

Thanks for the input Yannio... I think you're the first person I know who's got personal experience with the CF hatch.

Please...always paint carbon fiber.  IMO it really looks tacky unpainted. Looks like your car was in a wreck, you replaced some parts, & haven't painted them yet.

Let the flaming begin.   :gofast
