Does anyone have any information on how to fix scratched wheels (ie rubbed against a curb)?
I looked online, but I could only find one "how-to" from a Audi message board. It seemed like it would work, but I would like to avoid having to paint since the scratches are on a polished (not painted) lip.
Also, I know there are places that will do it, but I can't find one in my area, and I would like to give it a try myself (if possible). I think it would be a good experience.
The only thing I can think of - depending on the extent of the damage - is to sand, or wire brush, re-polish & clearcoat. Is the lip polished to a mirror shine, or is it more like a machined finish? Do you think you can do most of the repair by hand, or will you need power tools? I've had decent success with one of those triangular "mouse" sanders. They get a lot of work done quickly, & they're also inexpensive. A dremel might be helpful, too. As far as painting, you can shoot clear coat out of a "rattle can."
