I have been looking at the 05 Focus, and i have decided i really like the look of the badging on the back of the car.
So here is my thought.... I am considering debadging my focus and adding the 05 ZX4 badge to my trunk (in the stock location)
The problem is that i dont like the way the silver badging looks on my gold focus. so if i do this, i am considering painting it.
So, what is your opinion. Should i debadge it and leave it that way. Should I paint the ZX4 badge blue (to match my FW.net stickers, my USAF sticker, my shorty antenna, and my plans for the interior) Should i paint the ZX4 badge gold to match my car and give it a kind of subtle look? Should i paint it black to match my hood trim piece and side mouldings? or should i throw on the silver badge?
To put on another badge from a different car or year would be kinda, well, ghey. Not as bad as the geeks that put SVT badges on their cars, but still kinda ghey.
i think i will be doing it anyway. i personally like the idea. and for 15 bucks to add a little personality to the car... well, i am going to order the badge from my dearlership tomorrow. I'll post pics when i get it on.
but since i am simply putting a zx4 badge on a sedan, i dont see how that is putting something "on my car that the car wasn't, was misleading, or didn't actually have" i understand that the 03 sedan is not official refered to as a ZX4, but its not like i am putting on an ST or SVT badge, or a Type-R or vtec sticker on it.
everyone should know it's a Focus, but outside of one other person who drives an older Sedan who fashioned his own ZX4 badging, I'd say wear that loud and proud.
Comes up to what you want though. I like the Chrome look m'self anywho.
