The interior of the new 2005s suck!! What was Ford thinking?  No character whatsoever.

I actually kinda like the interior. I've only seen photos, never the real thing in person. It's the exterior that I object to. They've made it look too much like an Escort.

Personally I am not a fan of the interior but I do like the exterior. However, please keep in mind that there are some 05 focus owners on the board who thoroughly enjoy their cars. I know its a matter of opinion, but I don't want to scare them off :?

Audio, what year do you have?

May I reiterate my request not to "bash" the 2005 models.  They've made a change and if those who purchase it, don't like it, then they have the right to let Ford know and I hope they will voice their complaints as well as compliments.

I'm asking to keep the fervent bashing down so we can allow our newbies who HAVE purchased the 2005, a comfortable environment to post and ask questions...

Heck, we need more 2005 owners in here so we can get info on mods avail. and what they've done to theirs.  I'm excited to see one with some stuff done to it.  Maybe Ford will pay attention.

I actually like the interior more than the exterior.  The only thing I don't like so much is the square vents.  That's all though.

That was not a bashing, just an opinion.  If it was a bashing of someone there would be a specified human target. No names, genders, physical discriptions, nationalities, creeds, or races etc were attacked. Just an opinion of a consumer product. I believe that is a constitutional guarentee to have an opinion and to express it. It in no way reflects on someones personal preference or purchase of said item. If you like the changes, that is fine.  Chill people. I was just stating a disatisfaction with Ford's new product.  I love the car, but not the internal esthetic changes.   And was just wanting to know if there were others who felt the same way.  Geesh!

Oh, and I have a 2001 ZX3. Great car inside and out.  Just a few very minor things I'd would of liked inside.

ok, I actually had asked in another post re: the 2005 model to please be careful with wording.  I'm the last person to ask for anyone to be PC, but I was just stemming the tide before it got out of hand like the last thread about the dislikes of the 2005.

I was not targeting you specifically, but I'd like to remind everyone in here that we welcome everyone who owns, is looking to own or just admires the focus and the comradery of the car clubs and friends we've been able to form through this simple, entry level car.

I'm chill, completely by the way, I'm also a Sr. Mod and one of the founding members of TF.us and like the comfort feel here.  There are other forums that would argue your point...I'm not arguing it, I'm just asking that we chose our words, even though they are opinions (feel free to have them btw - I know I voice mine fervently), carefully.  The term "SUCK" is a bit strong, but I understand that is your opinion.  I just need to let those that do own the new 2005 models that we don't all feel that way and we welcome them just as much as those who own the previous generation.

we want our site to grow and include all.  That is all I was asking.  No heat from me here man...most know I'm like Rick in letting this place remain a "free speech" zone, so long as there's no malice I'm chill....ice freakin' cold

P.S - I don't care much for the square vents myself and a few other things, but there are pros & cons to the car.  I like the rear bumper particularly well and the new style rear spoiler on the sedans.  I'd like to see more of the ZX3 models, but they seem really scarce.

Something I've been looking/researching are seat covers for my '05 ZX3. I would like them gray with the center black.  I just wonder if you'd have to remove the head rest and just either leave them off or they would have holes for the head rest. The front seats are really comfortable but I want my seat covers to fit tight with no sagging or they'll stay the way the car came.

Yes the interior is pretty mundane(boring) but it's an entry level economy car that has potential for modification. If you wanted sports suspension and power and the extras you would have a SVT that cost approx. $18-20K. I paid $11K OTD. Sorry they discontinued the SVT but I have no control over that.

I don't know what sorts of stlyes they have, but try Wet Okole seat covers, they're supposed to fit like a glove and be very nice quality!

I'm guessing http://www.wetokole.com

Amanda,

Yes, I've read about these seat covers. I think they're neoprene, which is similar to what wet suits are made. Thanks

JT, you might want to check out Katskins. They're real leather & probably pricey, but very nice. They also have a wide variety of styles & colors from which to choose.

Ah true, Katzkins are sweet. (http://www.autoleathers.com) but they're also a replacement for the current seat "skin" as opposed to a cover that goes over what you already have.

So depending what you're looking for JT, either of those could be good.

I went to their web site. They look really great but don't openly post any prices so they must be quite expensive. Guessing, I would say the 2 front seats would be in the $400-$500 range. More than I care to spend at this point but it's an option. Thanks

Quick mention on the seatcovers!

If you have SAB do not get any that completely wrap around the seat back.  Your SAB deploys from the side and seat covers can cause them to not deploy properly.  This can cause you to be hurt by any impact or be hurt by the airbag.

I will not be getting seat covers that go around my seat for this reason.

Cool,  see the '05's can be made to look pretty awesome. I guess from the first pic all are Saleens. I'd hate to see the price on those in the pics. Bet $25K+. Enough $$$ just about anything can be made to look cool and perform.

That black one is damned nice. I love the white one too, but I'd take those spoilers off as soon as I got it home.

Mr. Versatile,

I see you and I have similar tastes. I'll leave all the big wing spoilers, after market mufflers and 18"- 20" tires to the younger guys ( now a CAI and a Borla exhaust system is different). Since, I haven't heard a Borla set up, I'm still not sure. I like the quietness of my '05. But those Foci's pics are all Saleen models aren't they? Very cool looking.

I wish my damn rims would get here, should be before Friday. Later!
