I think Steeda sells a short throw shifter for the 05 models.

Isn't the '05 the same as the 02+ shifter.  I think it is.  I do know for a fact that it is the MTX-75 tranny.  So any knob that fits the MTX-75 will fit, as for the shifter part, I think it's the same as say an 03.

Yeah Joe, the 05 uses the same STS as the 02+ Focuses did.

Steeda and Focus-Central seem to have the 2 most common/popular ones. The Steeda seems universally accepted as the best out there, from what I've heard.

Can be found here

Hmm, well I found This one for installing the Steeda/FRPP on an SVT

and this one for installing a B&M short shifter

I'm not sure if they help, but I bet you can make out how to do it. Maybe go by the SVT one... I'm guessing it isn't too different, even though it's a different tranny? There must be a Steeda how-to for the MTX-75 somewhere...

if they give you directions you can do it, it isn't that hard, though there is some plastic doohickey that supposedly breaks no matter how hard you try not to break it, cheap from ford.

The directions from Steeda were very good, it shouldn't take more than 1 hour.
