Ford GT did not run
in the Le Mans Endurance Series
or the actual Le Mans race
this year despite massive hoopla about the car
driven predominantly
by the fact that the GT40 won Le Mans in the mid-60's several times.
There will be no SVT Focus in 2006.
The '05 Mustang GT only has a 4.6 not a 5.0
(this has been going on for a few years,
but as Mustangs get bigger and heavier,
this is a big deal.
the old Fox bodies were tiny by comparison
and they had the 5.0).
Ford is officially selling Cosworth.
(may explain why no SVTf in '06, actually,
and is horrible news for both Team Jordan
and team Minardi in the F1 series,
who now have no engine partner for next year,
with only a few months to go
until testing begins on next year's car.)
Ford is officially disolving the Jaguar F1 team.
Ford is most likely disolving Ford Rally Team.
Ford is loudly and rapidly proclaiming
its ever-increasing dedication to racing
and to performance enthusiasts.
sounds like all their racing
will now be american-style oval racing only
and drag racing.
sounds like their dedication to performance
revolves around you spending ultra-premium prices
by purchasing all your *umph*
through Ford Racing and Ford Performance.
FEH!

Captain J wrote: where'd you get the info? Who they selling Cosworth to? What about Formula Ford? Are they going to maintain their support of the 2.3L Duratec?
during Sunday's first ever
Formula 1 Grand Prix of China
that was just about all they talked about.
there will be no Formula Ford.
i don't think the disolving of WRC Ford Rally is official
but given that both Duval and Markko have already signed
to other teams,
i think we can make some safe assumptions.
i have no idea what they're going to do
about the SVTf engines.
in fact,
that's what i'm most concerned about,
more than anything else.
