GRRRR I want cable or broadband back! Will someone share their connection with me?
My only option is satellite internet, which is retarded... because it costs $675 for the equipment, plus it goes out in bad weather (which is when I'd most likely be using it).

I've got Direct TV, so I inquired about their high speed internet service. If I remember correctly, when all was said & done, it was around $800 installed, and that doesn't include the monthly charge. The wife & I had a good time laughing at that one.
Because our local phone co. has a virtual monopoly, the only other hi speed link available is from them. I have Hi speed at work, (where I am right now). I don't think it's all that. My unlimited dial-up 56K works very well for most things I use it for. For $9.00/mo...I'm keeping it.

Nope, here no DSL avaible, got me WOW! Cable inetrnet, but the motom thingy died on Sunday and they should be here Friday 2 fix, but now I have 2 reschedule cause hubby has Physical Therapy and will not be home, so probably another week!! Angry kinda. So I am post whoring at work. Oh well, kinda mad, when I get home and need 2 look up somehting it makes me madder. Sorry dude, this shit does suck. Sucks a whole lotta ying yang. A$$Monkeys. Sorry.

Thats HORRIBLE service. You call on a Sunday, and they cant get any help until Friday! Thats almost a week!!
When i have a problem, whether it was when i was with Comcast, or my curent carrier RCN, they have come the NEXT day.

hmmmm.... hadn't thought about that.... maybe i'll call the dsl folks.
Having consistant speed is ok, you just adjust to it. When you are travelling and one morning you are on a T1, that afternoon at a hotel in Boston with a dialup that is slower than a fax machine and that night on adsl in New York you feel like the wrong end of a Yo-Yo.
