Well, have had a vibe in the steering wheel for awhile now that noone could diagnose... till today.
I'm so damn piussed right now its not funny, but here is the problems. replaced tires not long ago, got rid of some of the vibe. took it to the dealer, got told a warped rotor, I pulled and had turned, yup one warped. vibe still there.
alignment shop today... 3 tires out of balance, rebalanced, still vibe. rear left bearing about shot, ford will replace.(but not cause of steering vibe).
then they hit me. intermediate drive shaft bearing (carrier bearing) shot. shop checked for the bearing, no go. have to order shaft assy. from ford... for 230 some dollars plus labor! (bend me over and get the lube out...). will find out if ext. warranty will cover or not tomorrow, but sounds iffy.
Man, so much for nickle and diming me. still gotta pay the shop for diagnosing the problem yet, imagine around a hundred.
Oh happy days! something went right. got a call from the service department who were checking my extended warranty. come to find out the extended i have is a ford 70k extended w/ a 100$ deductible( forgot how many years). beats the hell out of paying for about 500$ worth of work out of my pocket. WOOHOO!
(of course they're not happy that i had someone else find the problem after they said it was warped rotors, but oh well)
