I priced a pretty optioned-out ZX3 SES to try to compare kinda to my car and with rebate and A-plan it came out to 14k... so a base model could probably be had for around 10k or less maybe!

My dad's been toying with the idea of a HD F-series, maybe he'll go for it with the deals going on now.

Hopefully your car comes back all better Bill! And not for much maybe?!

If Ford is truly offering "A Plan" pricing to everyone, I think it's pretty doubtful there would be rebates on top of that. As a former Ford employee, the only folks that I know of that can get below that price are the dealers. A plan prices leave very little money for the dealer to make a profit. I bought my ZX3 new in June of 2002. It's a power premium with a sunroof. I paid $11,180. The dealer invoice was $10,600. I don't know what prices are now, but you can see the profit is very, very low. When you figure the prep work, paper work, dealer overhead, and salesperson's commission, there's almost nothing left.

1956MarkII is a dealer. He gives members of the Ford Truck Board a great price plus rebates plus $500 off. But you gotta drive to Rochester NY to get it.

Lil D Have your dad email him or give him a call. Might be worth a 5 hour drive to save a few grand if it comes down to it.

Its so bad that we CAN get him a new car, but they wont take the sebring so then he would have 2 car payments. its crazy. I have apparently had it quite easy when it came to getting a car because he is having a BITCH of a time. We  have gone to various dealers and they cant  help. And as for the bad credit, there are places that help you out because of that, only problem is they give you stupid high interest rates so you cant afford the car in the end.

dont know what the boy is gonna do. needs out of that car so bad but no one wants a POS Sebring!!

OK, I have to ask, what makes the Sebring a POS?

Here's what my car had wrong with it when I traded it in:

-141,000 (almost 142k) miles

-Very aging clutch (pretty much almost gone)

-Intake pipe rotting

-Granny dent on passenger side fender

-Bose HU shot

-Interior looked like shit

-Scratches along the bumper

-Y-Pipe and custom exhaust still on

My car barely passed inspection the past couple years, and I still managed to get 3700 for it.  Might I ask what is wrong with the Sebring??

The car is back... i havent seen it but it sounds like it looks alright. They apparently forgot to blend the pass. side door though so we will have to check out what that looks like when Bill gets home tonight.

Saved $300+ from what it was originally quoted at so Bill got to bank some money for breaks and an oil change which is nice... will cost $60 more to blend the door if it comes to that... seeing that the painted everything but the trunk, roof and pass rear fender.... it might need to be done ;)

*Oh and Jay... you asked what makes it s POS.... umm... its a sebring ;)
its just extemly not practical.... with a 5 year old you really need a 4 door car to get him in and out the back, its a V6 which eats gas so driving to Hyannis everyother weekend twice gets very expensive, Bill does dirty work so his seat is shot since its leather, its a car for essintaly 2 boys so its just trashed and not easy to organize/clean since its a 2 door coupe..... and had no breaks, no tune ups and at the last meet we found out... no oil! ;)

With ford's family plan pricing, + 500 loyalty cash + 2500 rebate, I can get an 05 ST pretty well loaded for 12K.  I was at the dealer on saturday, thinking about doing this actually.  The only thing I didn't like about the car was the suspension, and I have all the suspension off my current car that will go on that, plus the 17" wheels.  So all in all, I'd have practically a new car with very similar characteristics in handling as I do now.  I'd change the brakes over to brembo in a hurry though, I can guarantee that.
