Natalie Holloway, the woman who's missing in Aruba--anybody ever heard of this story??? Uh huh. I thought so. OK. It's truly a terrible thing, very sad, scary, seems hopeless. My heart goes out to her & her family. I can't imagine what they might be going through.
But I'm sick to death of hearing about this. I gotta ask why this particular story is getting so much publicity? I'm a white, bald, 63 year-old male. If I was missing in Aruba, would I be getting press like this? If Shanise Doe, from Wats was missing in Aruba, would she be getting this much ink? If a mayor of a medium sized city was missing in Aruba, would they be in the news this much?
It just seems so goddamned unfair. If you're female, young, pretty, and blonde, the entire world loves you & is concerned about you. If you're not, nobody gives a shit. You are a singularly unimportant human being. Who's name 'ya think is going to be remembered longer, Natalie Holloway, or any of the 14 guys that got killed in Iraq a couple of days ago? Can you name even one of their names? (Don't look it up, you cheaters.) I didn't think so.

Fair point Mr V. I definitely agree there is bias for young, cute white girls having terrible things done to them. I gotta admit though, I didn't know her name, I'm not good at remembering them, but I'd recognize her pic over any of the Iraq soldiers', I know.
I just recently heard of this story of a black/Hispanic lady, I forget where, that seems to have been in the same situation as Laci Peterson... haven't heard a peep from any media outlet about it...
I agree that there is WAY too much attention given to this case (much like Laci Peterson). While it is terribly sad that it happened, there are hundreds (thousands?) of other missing persons out there right now with absolutely no publicity.

Clearly, nothing else has been going on in the entire world since the girl went missing. Otherwise the news would be busy covering all the different new that it possible could. I mean, look at their track record. they have a long history of presenting as many news storys as possible instead of just focusing on a feew and then rehashing them in opinion shows.

The equasion has to include: Young, Attractive Female with family that has money enough to really spend weeks on the hunt for their missing loved one. I agree I'm sad that this happened, but I can bet money that my sorry ass face wouldn't be plastered all over national and int'l network newscasts every damned day like hers has been.

OMG!!!! She's back in the news, with more coverage than the wars in Iraq & Afganistan combined. The only thing that gets more coverage is Tom & Katies baby, which of course, is another event of world-wide importance.
