So I haven't had to fill up for two weeks now, been really concentrating on not paying a lot for gas and trying to stretch a tank. Yup well I stretched it too far and realized on my way to work this morning I should have filled up BEFORE I got on the Highway... haha I was forced to get off an exit early and fill up...yup, had to pay
$2.07 !!!
..
I almost cried pulling out of the statioin.. and to think, its only going to get worse from here on out..

for 87 here in good ol' Maine, I agree, it is becoming more and more painful to get gas right now...I've found myself trying to keep the tank as full as possible, figuring it's easier to do that then to wait until its low and then pay more. Especially with how quick it goes up...One day its 2.06 the next its 2.08 so if I go 5 days and it's 2.14, and I have to fill up, I pay for it at 2.14, if I do it in small increments, besides being a monumental pain in the ass, I only pay say...2 gallons at 2.14, 2 gallons at 2.10, 2 gallons, at 2.08...so I save a little, I guess it just makes me feel better about it.
I guess that would be a good way to look at it. I'm just too friggin lazy to do it that way . When I get out of work all I wanna do is go home most of the time, unless I have prior plans. in that case I might be more willing to stop and top off my tank.

Yup... gas be expensive... it sux but ya know what. I think its a long time coming. We still have some of the cheapest gas out there. We probably should have been paying some kinda tax on it since the begining. It is a limited resource. I think everyone has been taking it for granted that it has been cheap. Now its starting.... starting... to creep up to the kinda prices everyone else pays. Plus, i personaly havent noticed less people going to get gas. If you need and and want it, you will pay for it.
(sorry... didnt mean that to sound harsh or anything )

yeah try public transport in Maine when it's 25+ miles to the nearest anything. It would be nice to live in an area where there was more public transportation, but the fact alone that it takes me 30 minutes to get to work, and at least 15-20 minutes in every direction just to go to a grocery store makes it a bitch.

NH has a nearly non-existant public transportation system.
Joe - too bad you're north of Portland..if you lived south you could hop the "ZOOM".
Talk about a bargain! less than $50/month for an unlimited pass and the bus has a place for your bike if you have to commute any further.
I wish they'd have something like that between the metro areas here in NH...Nashua, Manchester, Portsmouth, Concord. With stops in between like "ZOOM" has.
