Help....This morning when I started my car, it made some really strange sounds.  The noise is constant and doesn't change.  It sounds like the windshield washer pump isn't turning off but louder.  At first I thought it might be a belt but checked and as best I can tell it's not.  I checked and it doesn't look like the DSI cable.  It accelerates and drives as good as it did without the noise.  Any ideas?

is it related to the clutch? I had a sound sort of similar to this, and found out it was the tranny fluid in there causing it...somehow or another, I don't know, but I changed the tranny fluid and the problem went away. Course now I have some obnoxious rattle to replace it, but that seems unrelated to the tranny/clutch

Just found out I need a new thermostat housing and DSI cable broken....it figures...I just ordered  a metal DSI piece from Canada...maybe it will get here before they install another plastic piece of junk OEM part.  At least I'm covered under the warranty...so far they haven't said anything about any mods to the car...I'll keep my fingers crossed....

I think I'll start shopping for a Toyota Corolla S or something...

DSI = Dual Stage Intake.  Its the cable that causes the intake to switch from the long runners to the short.

I don't mean to be rude or impertinant, but could I suggest that posts like these be made, or moved to a different thread. Since I'm not from New England, I almost never read this thread. It just happen to catch my eye today, for some reason. Information such as this might be best shared with all forum members, not just TFNE.;:what

probably a good point Mr. V I'm sure Blurry was trying to direct it at the "cold climate" people that's all. Chelly will have to move it, my mod powers have no authority here :)

I don't have an answer for Chrome, but I do have one for zx3. ALL Ford Products have whiney power steerting pumps. Matter of fact even when you put a new pump in a Ford it says 'Pump will make noise'. It's just the way that Fords are I guess. For shits and giggles check it anyway. Also- this is funny, On a Ford Fan/Serpentine belt it says 'Shut off car before installing' I'd hate to have been the guy who try'd when the motor was running lol. See ya around:gofast.. Mike

Please move it where you want...the only reason I posted here under NE is a lot of times there is no respond from other areas....As mentioned, DSI is Dual Stage Intake and there is a TSB on it...only effects the SVTF. I only have 2,000 miles before I hit 36,000 miles and no warranty...that is why I will get one.  They have been good at Ford...they gave me a 2005 Ford Taurus to use while they get the part...

so, blurry...i noticed a strange sound as well, only when its really cold out tho, but has been kind of there since.  only happens until the car has been at operating temp for a good 25 mins (operating temp, not on for 25 mins).  kind of sounds like a belt but i dont know...annnnd sounds like my heating fan has a bit of a noise problem in the cold.  still blows hot air and gets me warm, but takes longer than usual and sounds like an industrial floor fan (ok, so maybe im exaggerating a lil, but youget the drift, it shouldnt be like that ).  anyone else seen probs with this?? any thoughts...bad part??  thanks

**EDIT** and the noise fluctuates with the rpm's gets faster with them, and slows with them...

Im clueless as to what that is Sveet but i mean I have a squeaky sound like that when i first turn on my heat, like the fans are squeakin at first, is that what it sounds like? I mean mine stop like not even 5 seconds after theyve been turned on, but is it a similar sound to what u have?  cause i must have a dirty filter or somethin and maybe some moisture got into the heatin system?? started to get stuff squeakin, i dunno..

Wow, a few new members in here. Welcome!

I dont know where you guys would want this moved, but if you tell me, I'll do it. I was going to move to the SVT forum, because the DSI is SVT only, but I figured I'd wait for opinions first. But I do agree with Mr. V that it could be moved.
