ok all.been having a problem with a heavy gas pedal off and on and poor performance, along with bad idle.
somewhere i read something about the same symptoms and a new tps repairing them.
so as a shot in the dark (after more expensive shots in the dark) i'm happy to report a new tps cured everything. and no, i wasn't setting any codes for it.
upon removal it was immediately noticed that the center piece was sloppy and when i tried to turn it with a screwdriver it was loose but caught alot and felt gritty.
put the new one on and started her up, purrs like a kitten.
evidently the rheostat was still working in it but giving wacky signals...
