so about a week and a half ago, my CEL came on, and my Traction Control got shut off...and i couldn't turn it back on with the button...so i went to an Autozone, and had the code checked out...and they said that it was the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor)...so i took it to Harr Ford, and told them to fix it, cuz it was under warrantee...so last week wednesday, i picked up the car, and it was running fine...until today...i was washing my car before i had to go to work...turned on the car and it was idling at 3000 rpm...so i was like WTF!?!?!?!   so i drove to work, and when i parked the car, right before shut off it idled at 4500 rpm!!! i was like "NOT AGAIN!!!" CEL came on and it was the TPS again...so i called Harr Ford and started to bitch...i was like "look...i don't know if you guys put a bad sensor from another car into my car or not, or i don't know what you did...but the sensor is bad AGAIN...CEL is on AGAIN because of that stupid sensor...i bringing my car in tomorrow morning and i want you guys to fix it right this time...there is no reason that i should the same problem happen to my car a second time...i'm bringing it in tomorrow and you better have it done by the latest on friday!!!"  and the service guy started apologizing and telling me to bring the car in as soon as possible and they would replace it with a brand new sensor...  so i'm dropping off my car in the morning... my question is....did they ever have a recall on the TPS on the 03 SVT's???

I know that a lot of people that have cold airs such as yours destroy the TPS. I dont think its just SVT's. I know that before your intake was hanging really low, all you need to do is get jsut a lil bit of water in there to make it crap the bed. I would suggest getting a weather shield and or bypass valve for your intake to prevent this from happening in the future. I myself have a cold air, and both bypass valve and weather shield and have never had a problem... Hope this helps..

thanks tiff...i'm getting my car back tomorrow, and on friday i'll be ordering the bypass valve and possibly a weather shield....i'm most likely gonna wait a little bit on the shield, but i'm definitely gonna get the bypass valve soon .....thx

That's why I bought a shorty. Too much trouble for too little gains with the CAI.

your intake prolly took in water hanging as low as it was that night i (we all) pointed it out..i had the same problem.  check the mass air sensor as well..theyre both expensive to replace.  consider yourself lucky they didnt say anything about the intake..

well since that night at braintree chris, i fixed the intake the next morning...which ran so much better after it....  i got the car back today, and my baby is running like a beauty...went out tonight for a nice, and fast drive to boston and back....it ran beautiful...we just got back actually.....I LOVE the street scene in boston...i guess people in boston are into highway racing, which is WHAT I LOVE(and backroads that is to test it's handling).....but i loved cruising in boston.....but anyways, back to the subject,:blah  the car is running like a champ right now....hopefully the TPS won't go bad again... and as of tonight, i no longer will drive the focus in the rain...that's why i have the taurus for...bad weather...SVT = good weather and having lots of fun...hehe
