so it looks like i'm gonna have to do the lemon law on my SVT....I bought the car in february....in the beginning of may, my CEL came on and i had no power on my car what so ever....got it checked out and it turned out to be the Throttle Position Sensor....warranty covered it so i got it fixed...about a week and half later, i had another problem...CEL came on again...same sensor.....last week tuesday my CEL came on again...so i was like WTF!!! i still went to the track....i went to turn on my car after the inspection, and the car didn't turn on...so i didn't race...i had to push start my car....so this past friday i called Ford and i told them that i'm bringing my car in today, and i'm doing lemon law...i have all of my papers, and receipts....why did it have to be me....i'm soooo mad and stressed because of this car....hopefully this lemon law works....i don't know if i'm gonna get another Focus, or another ford.....although i am really gonna miss my SVT....when i bought the car, it only had 600 miles...i drove it to 2 TFNE meets....one at dan's mom's house, and one at braintree....than i started to drive it in May.....and right now it only 4000 miles.....i started to do a carfax report, but i didn't have my card on me so i couldn't pay to see the problems on the SVT...although it did say that they found 8 problems before i bought it......so yea....i am definitely doing a lemon law....any suggestions???

I'd say you have a pretty good case, 3 of the same problems in a six month span qualifies for the lemon law.  They are out there, doesn't mean they all are lemons, heck even Honda has it's share of lemons, have to remember a car is a very complex thing, it's a wonder to me sometimes that there aren't more lemons than there are.

lemon laws can be hard soemtimes. Depending on the state and the law. Be sure to research it and get all the info so you dont make yourself look silly when you approach the dealer. I know what its liek to have a car that just "isnt right" 9 major safety issues in a  year is why ford bought my first focus back from me... didnt stop me from getting another one though...

best of luck to you.

You can only do the lemon law if it is again the TPS. I would get an "Oasis Report" on the car. Get is from a differant dealership than you bought the car, just incase. This report will tell you everything that ford has done to it. In theory the first item on it should be your first TPS sensor but it dosen't hurt to look at it.

Have the dealer you bought the car from run a car fax. They most likely have a subscription to it.

Maybe get a differant dealership to look at the car. Maybe there is somthing else wrong with the car and your dealership is not looking at the right things. My parents has a Bronco and there was a problem with it with power loss or somthing. Anyway we needed for a vacation and the dealer could not figure out the problem but said it was drivable but could not tow the camper we needed. We went on vacation and the Bronco died. Got towed to a local dealer in the state we were in and they completly fixed the problem in a couple hours. sometimes you need a differant dealer to look at things.

good luck.  igave up caring about what ford had to say about mine.  i was going for it, but wehen they calssified the clutch problem on what wouldve been the 3rd anf final try i needed to push for the lemon law, they, ford, classified it as a "no problem found".  i tried for months to reason with ford, and go t no where.  what are you going to do when the VP of SVT tells you its normal and that a few hundred cars are oput there with that same problem?  IMHO, as for all the problem sive gone thru with ford, this will prbably be the only one ill own...uynless they come out with 100% guaranteed problem free cars, then ill buy a ford.

PS - hey ford, :fu

This is by far, the typical experience. I don't think Bill Gates could reason with Ford. They are so huge, and so protective of each other within the corporation, it's like trying to fight off a really big, tough guy that has 50 arms. Even at a very, very low level, it's impossible to get names, phone numbers, or even addresses of people who might be in positions to give any assistance. IMO, it's truly disgusting. I honestly don't know about other car companies, although I suspect they are all about the same, but Ford only cares about one thing and that's making a profit. They do this by selling the maximum # of cars they can, avoiding all other costs, e.g. repairs, recalls, warranty work, and above all, refunds. To believe they give a rodents rectum about their customers is to simply be delusional.

 It's absolutely shameful.

Gabe... that SUX about the car. Definatly get the lemon law on your side.

be thankful you are from MA.... the lemon laws there are MUCH better than the ones in NH.... they pretty much do not exsist this side of the boarder.

if they give you shit... write to Ford. Granted, it didnt work for Chris but it workedout GREAT for me. Got my money back on work and a free extended warrentee that ended up covering my engine when it blew. I found the secret is to write to the CEO.. someone high up in Ford... end it to Detroit (or wherever they are now). Make sure its a long, long letter letting them know every detail of what has happened and all the crap you have gone through. Biggest thing... make sure to send it certified mail so it has to be signed for.... by the person who you want to read it. That way you KNOW it will atleast touch the hands of the high ups in the company.

I hope it all works out for you kid!

well i went and talked to the V.P of ford sales, and he looked at my car with a technician, and WHAT THE PROBLEM ended up being was that the throttle body was messed up...so the fact that it was messed up, it was giving the sensor bad readings....so that's why the TPS sensor kept going out....so they're going to fix it....and i got all in writing from the V.P saying that if the sensor goes out a 4th time, than we're gonna do the lemon law and i will get a full refund on my car.... so i'm glad i'm keeping my car....cuz i really love my SVT...but if this sensor goes bad, i'm definitely gonna get rid of it....

Thx for all of your help guys, i really needed it...
