Well I am having a hard time getting the focus into reverse.  I have to really slam the shifter over and up in order to get it to go in.  If anyone has any suggestions that would be great

to my knowledge, that's the way it works.  it's made so it's harder than getting it into the other gears, so you don't accidentaly think it's first.

i drove my friend's SVT and it does take some more force.  i didn't find it to be alarming, or malfunctioning.  but he says his mom almost isn't srong enough to do it.

Have you checked the clutch/brake fluid lately? If it's not topped off, that might be part of the problem. You might also try pumping the clutch in neutral 2 or 3 times, then try to shift to reverse to see if that helps.

I dont think it is low on fluid but I will check.  I tore apart the shifter and you can see where the plastic on the shifter has been rubbbing.  I dont know it changong the shifter will help or not

i had the same problem with mine, there is a bracket on the back of the tranny that keeps the clutch cables in place, mine was loose, i tightend the bolts up on the bracket and problem solved. i would check that out and see if that is your problem
