Don't know how I broke it but it snapped off...the screw from the antenna snapped off into the base..which I'm guessing means a whole new antenna including base...anyone have this happen? How difficult is it to replace? Thanks.

from what I've heard it isn't all that hard, I had it happen but it was replaced under vehicle warranty, but I think it's pretty simple, and fairly cheap for those parts. You'll need a new antenna and a base, I think it's like a little over $20 bucks.
I did it on mine. Wicked easy!!!! Antenna through Ford is 45 and base was 12. I got the antenna on ebay for 16......Good LuckYou replace it through the interior light and there is a how to here on the site!!!!
I managed to break mine on several occations and a few times we (Bill) managed to get the broken part of the antenna out of the base.
Either way it is really easy. Just make sure you get a base from the right year focus is you go to a junk yard or something. They are slightly different year to year and are NOT interchangable.
Good luck!

Yep. Just but a new base for $10-$15 and carefully and patiently take the screw out of the antinna. I took the screw out of chelly's shorty antinna when I accidently snapped it off the base. some tweazers and/or a pick might help getting the screw out.
Or like valve stem caps borrow one off another car and maybe leave a note for them to borrow one off yet another car....
All set...they covered it under warranty...my base had the screw from the antena broken in it...they like me at Ford so they charged me for the part only...Thanks.

FYI - Junkyards are a great place to find spare Antennas...Dan and I have been known to take as many that are avail. due to their high propensity to snapping
