I HIT A CURB IN MY 2002 FORD FOCUS SVT I AM GOING TO BE NEEDING A LOWER CONTROL ARM AND A FEW OTHER PARTS FOR SURE, I WANTED TO KNOW WHICH SUSPENSION PARTS ARE THE SAME AS A REGULAR FOCUS AND WHATS NOT. PLEASE HELP, THIS WHOLE DEAL HAS GOT ME REALLY TRIPPIN OUT. ALSO IF ANYONE HAS SOME PARTS I COULD BUY THAT WOULD BE GREAT TOO. THANKS
I think the lower control arms are the same but not 100% on that.
Your local dealer should be able to tell you. Have them look up the SVT parts than the normal focus parts. Some parts will have differant numbers and the parts might be differant but as far as how differant and if they will fit I am not sure. I know the rear lower control arm has a # for the focus and a # for the SVT. I needed one for a normal focus so I got that one.
Personaly I would get new parts. Getting ones from a savage yard can be more expensive than new parts. I needed a rear trailing arm once. Got price for new at $70 and went to salvage yard and they want $100 for a used one becuase of labor to remove it. Unless you pull the part yourself and pay under $20 for it, its not really worth it in my opinion. Also the bushings are not available individualy. If you need a bushing you either need to get aftermarket urithane or get the new part with the bushing in it. In saying that if a bushing becomes damaged when removing the part from a salvage car your good part is now defective.
I think I replaced my lower control arms a year or so ago with an aftermarket from Napa or somewhere...that were definately much thicker then the stock ones...but I can't remember for sure...my replacement was definately not a Ford part..

If I remember correctly that was your sway bar end links.... ?????????
Depends on which lower control arms you are talking about. The front ones haven't changed but the rear ones have, Ford reinforced the rear LCA at the connecting point for the RSB end links. The originals were prone to "failure". For those people with larger RSB, like the Eibach 25mm or some of the other larger rear bars, with a "stock" suspension or a suspension without a good deal of spring the end links would work the hole in the LCA bigger, and then eventually tear right through the LCA. Not so good. The other piece of that is the mounting brackets in the rear as well, same problem, poor welds big RSB, brackets torn from the crossmember.
