I used to have the BOMZ CAI from ebay and no bypass valve, and the car ran like crap in the rain, but now I have the AEM CAI with the AEM bypass and have had no problems in the pouring down rain and love it. I would strongly suggest getting one for just a little security from sucking up water into the motor. The Maine potholes really like to hide large puddles and the would litteraly suck....
Just my .02

I also have an AEM with the bypass valve and have had no problems so far, its only been in the car for two weeks now but with the amount of rain we have had, its been good.

Be careful the bypass valve tends to get brittle and break, keep an eye on it, mine sheared right off after about 1 1/2 years, you might want to invest in motor mounts also to prevent the engine from moving so much.
