It is isn't it.
I got corrected recently when I used "Americans" to describe those people who live in the country south of Canada and north of Mexico.
Political Science student from Mexico. I tried Yankee Imperialists but that wasn't acceptable either.
Getting old can be fun.

i think the new term of the muslim world and michael moore followers is "stupid infidels". it's very chic now.
Although I'm not an emotional liberal, I think Michael Moore utilizing his right to raise questions and the right to freedom speech is great. I love to see the neo-cons just pout about it!

It is rather fun isn't it. Moore makes no bones about his intentions but Farenheit 911 is still being referred to as a documentary. Box office is doing very well. Republicans working to ensure that Nader is on the ballot on as many states as possible is kind of an odd twist.

Like I been sayin', if everyone just voted Independent, it would make the politicians shit themselves. They need a wake up call. But Americans will vote for their "parties" candidate, even if they know they can be a little shady. Americans cant swallow their pride. They feel obligated to vote for the "party" they are registered in. Cons vote for Cons, and Libs vote for Libs (99.9% of the time). It's a label game. If we could move away from that mentality, just ONCE, it will be the first step in taking our country back from special interests and paid politicians.
I hear people say Nader is somehow "radical". I saw him talk last night, I liked what I heard. Take the country back.....
But this is a weird thread lol. Even talk about hot sauce. Speakin of hot sauce, anyone wanna go get me some Frank's Buffalo Wing sauce???

If Nader could just get the Tabasco people to back him there'd be a good combination. Imagine if the same people who came up with the Tabasco Mosquito advert were to do the ones for Nader.

well jonny, voting independent is fine but the candidate has to have some charisma and at least some chance of effecting change. nader has no personality and no one is going to rally around him. if we could come up with a an independent LEADER, i would be all for it.
frankly, the existing system is just that a SYSTEM.... a big machine that cranks out BS regardless of what the people want. i would rather vote for someone like jese ventura or the terminator for president who may really have a chance to shake things up and arose some passion to get it done. nader is not the guy.
Well, I think thats part of the problem. People are worried about "charisma", whether someone is witty, amongst other things, instead of paying attention to what people are saying, the policies, and the reality.
I could care less if someone has charisma. I educate myself on their belief system, their convictions, and their policies and how they plan on changing the current ones.
I dont want a cartoon character in office.
Besides, the point of voting for Nader and being Independent isnt his charisma or character, it's to stir things up and make the Cons and Libs realize we mean business. No more career politicians and their friggin rubbish.
you're stuck in a loop. ideas alone don't make anything happen. it takes a personality and imagination and energy to make it happen. nader is NOT the guy. electing him would put us into a similar "malaise" that jimmy carter caused. carter was intelligent, not beholden to special interests. and a decent human being. but he sucked as president (leader) and dragged us to the edge of an abyss. carter=nader=NADA
I agree somewhat, but me "you're stuck in a loop". I dont think so. Thats exact reason I am not party-affiliated. It's the rest of America that is "stuck in the loop". I am willing to break this vicious cycle. Most arent.
As long as you go and vote that is all that matters. If there was actually a voter turnout over 85%, that alone would get some serious attention. As things stand now most elected officials believe that the majority really don't care so they can do as they please.
Even if Nader doesn't win, if he got 20% of the vote don't you think that a message would be sent.
When Pat Paulsen ran and actually started to get support there were changes in the two main parties.
Right now I think it's fair to say that the Democrats and Republicans believe that an independent doesn't have a chance and they behave accordingly.

i meant that it seems that you are stuck in the "vote for nader loop" no matter what argument is used. not that you are stuck in a political loop.
as expected the politics have begun to get petty and tiresome and we still have 2 and a half months to go. at this rate by mid october each of the candidates 527 groupies will be looking back into the elementary school behavior of each and advertise how many times they got sent to the principal's office for throwing a spit-wad.
how can you be fit for president if you ever did that?

In all these years I've never heard a whisper of him ever being anything except a 100% straight up businessman. Rare man. Using his money in a way that is, at first glance, contrary to his own business interests say a lot.
