My Focus Violently jerks backward when I put it in reverse!!! AHH!!! - ZX3 And ZX5 Forum - Model Specific Forums - Team Focus - Come On In And Enjoy The Company!
Hi everyone my name is Jason. I'm 19, live in MA (USA) and I'll soon be going to UTI automotive school. I just joined Teamfocus today... AWESOME. I finnally have a good place to post my problems lol.
I own a 2001 Ford Focus zx3 Zetec 2.0 engine AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ... The problem on my focus is scaring me. This is what happens... When I shift my car into reverse from the Park position... The car sometimes takes like 3-5 seconds to go into the reverse gear... which is puzzling me.. and the more scary part is.. when it finally goes into the revrse gear.. it does it very VIOLENTLY! ... the car doesnt smoothly adjust into reverse.. it JERKS THE WHOLE CAR like i just ran over a curb at 10mph!! I DONT UNDERSTAND THIS!!!! WHY??? I HAve my BRAKES applied... E-brake OFF... Overdrive mode OFF... WTF IS GOING ON!!!!???? HELP ME OUT PLEASE!!!!! I am VERY VERY WORRIED!
Annoying part is... I cannt make the problem happen when i want... so that means I cant really go to a mechanic to show them... I REALLY dont have the money to get my car diagnosed and taken apart to see what it is... The Problem usually only happens if i have the car siitting while turned on while in park.. and then shift it out into reverse.. or when i go to start my car in the morning for the first time... DONT GET THIS!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
