even though they call the engine in the RS a duratech, it is the same as the Zetec I think. At least from what I've seen by looking at the engine, either that or they did a damn good job making it look just like a Zetec and not a duratec. Either way. Be prepared to pay more than you want for this stuff. And I mean, an INSANO more than you may want. You can buy complete engine kits from a bunch of places. But you'll likely need a boatload of other things as well (ie ECU, transaxles, transmissions, etc) I don't know how well this stuff is compatible (I'm willing to be closer to not at all).

just to let you know this wont be thrown together all in one week or year, this is a many year project that will be spread out for a period of time. the zetec swap will HOPEFULLY be set for some time next year depending on how much $$$ i can accumulate. so as long as they provide the zetec with rs parts or parts damn near rs or better, i can do an insano edition. As of now i'm FOCUSing on a zetec swap.

Hows it going,

I'm trying to do an engine swap as well, I have the same car as you and I,m looking for the same info.

I can tell you this though, i'm pretty sure the Zetec and duratec are quite different. The Duratec has Duel length intakes and uses variable valve timing. it also has a 6 speed Getrag gearbox. the two engines are dimensionally the same so it will fit, but you will have to change the gearbox, ECU, drive shaftsand hub assemblies.

Thats all the info I have myself.

Good luck

If you got a new job with a fat raise, or married a rich woman, you might suddenlt find yourself driving something...shall we say...a bit upgraded from a Focus.
