This had happen to me last year around the same time. Florida is hot once again, but no one wants a hot car, especially their engine running hot. If you refer to your Haynes Repair Manual on the Ford Focus, on page 3-4 look on figure 5.1. There is where my problems are, the resistor wire harness for some reason is toasted. My question is, does anyone know the part number for it and/or why the hell did it brun that nasty and makes me suffer through heat.? Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry but Florida only has two seasons: Summer and Fall.

I don't know the part #, but is there some way you can insulate it? Maybe with some insulation wrapped with some insulating tape? You should be able to find some at an auto parts store.

Well the harness is all toasted, only thing left is to break it and install it with some connectors. That's why I wanted to part # so it won't look like a crappy job.

Well I removed the burnt harness and replaced the harness with some female disconnects. I still wondering why did this 10 AWG, green w/ white stripe wire got mildly toasted.

Well I still believe something is just not right in my Foci. If I don't have the A/C on, the fans will not go on. The temperature meter goes half way and no sign of the fan running. Until I turn on my A/C that's when I hear the fans working. When should the fans start working? After it gets half way on the gauge? Help, anybody.

After the car is fully warmed up, try letting it idle for a time in your driveway. The fan will probably come on then.

After driving let's say 50 miles and still no sign of fans going on, that what is going on with the car and I'm getting pretty upset. Last year I change: the coolant, relays, thermostat, resistor and still yet cannot get to the point on what the hell is going on. My hood is already fading due to the heat of the engine. I'm tired of this car.

Well the only thing I can think right now is to change the CHT sensor (Cylinder Head Temperature). I just saw my belt and its on the last days, so that will be change as quick as possible.
