Well I'm not sure if this is the right place for this inquiry, but here it goes. As the subject says my heater blower has kicked the bucket on my 2000 focus lx. Before it died, only a few speeds worked, with three being the last speed that ever blew any air. I went to search for a new blower but it seems my only options are salvage or dealership. I've been told that it may be the resistor and also that it may be a whole other very expensive and extensive process. I'm not sure what to think, has anyone else had this problem before? I'd like to replace it myself if possible, but if it is indeed expensive, I may just brave the winter with a cold car. Thanks in advance for any help. I'll be around to provide more detail if needed. Thanks.
If it still works on 4, then it's the resistor pack. If it doesn't work at all, it's the fan. Either one is a PITA, I'd imagine the blower motor is harder than the resistor pack.
