Damn I thought that I was going to lose this one. Girl next to me in one was looking at me and want to race. So of course I could not pass this one up. Tell ya what, I launched the Pzev faster and harder than the SE-R and roasted the Sentra from the stoplight to where I live. Damn was she pissed at me. Oh well sht happens Mang. I was suprise that I was able to launch faster and harder than the SE-R could. Like I said Fear Da PZEV Mang. Aight Holla, Holla.
Speaking of small victories and having a little fun - I was able to find the gov on my car the other day.
I was cruising on 93 and had GT mustang play a little - I think I surprised him when I kept with him until shut down @105. The kicker -
I was only in 4th at about 4500-5000rpm and still had a gear to go! I stayed right with him the whole way (I'd say a mile)
***I don't condone what I did, nor do I condone street racing of any kind, but the temptation was just too great - you had to see the bonehead with his girlfriend yappin' on her cell phone while all of this was happening. Dan was with me

Not slow that I can't stay side by side w/ a 1995 Pontiac Gran Prix GT Dan.
We raced last night nite and we where side by side to the end of the race. So take that Dan.
wait, let me get one thing straight here... your auto-tragic slushbox duratech focus beat an ser spec-v... somehow i dont think thats possible lol. a completely stock specv could roast you anyday. you arent even getting close to the amount of power that a spec puts down. tell you what, you want to race a real spec, try racing me, i run .2 seconds slower than my friends integra type R. are you even sure it was a spec. keep in mind that specs have 17 inch rims stock and the only place on the car that it says spec v is the drivers door. oh and it only comes in a six speed with 180hp and 180lbft of torque. i bet you raced an auto ser...

i mean not to bash on the focus or anything, but that little duratech... it just isnt going to perform side by side, let alone ahead of the spec motor. i mean you dont even have the variable cam timing that we do or even the secondary intake runners. plus with our huge 100mm stroke we just get alllll that torque to the ground, below 3000 rpm. why would you even buy an auto-tragic.. keep it stock.. then brag about racing and beating a car that you couldnt catch in your wildest dreams? im not trying to be mean here but if youre going to keep making things up, your just might have to race me

hey it's a troll...cool a little troll of our own.
Well considering a few items here...
The stock SE-R V Spec 2.5L I-4 makes 175bhp @ 6000RPM and 180btq @ 4000RPM. With a curb weight of 2740lbs sans driver.
The stock 2.3L duratec makes 151bhp @ 5750 and 154btq @ 4250 with a curb weight of 2612lbs sans driver.
So it's more than conceivable that the duratec could push the SE-R V Spec to it's limits, considering that it weighs at least 130lbs less than the SE-R V spec, doesn't have as large a drag coefficient like the SE-R V spec, and isn't as god awful ugly as the SE-R V spec.
i dunno, i'd say 24 more hp and 29 more lbft of tq is quite the advantage against an automatic focus that weighs just a little less that the spec.and seeing as how i reach my maximum tq at 4000 rpm, i pull pretty much off the line. and btw i think your hp numbers are wrong, we dont reach our maximum hp output at 6000, we redline at 6200, i think you need to recheck that dyno graph. ive raced gabes old focus many times and everytime, no matter if it was on the highway or from a stop he was always looking at my tail lights. please keep in mind that a bone stock spec is capable of a 14.9 1/4 mile, with a 1.8 60'

oh and on a side note, im not trying to be a "troll" lol, i actually like the focus. i cruise around with Mr.SVT all the time keeping my bottom warm in his heated seats lol. but i know for a fact even a bone stock spec could beat a bone stock duratec, autotragic none the less.

Well..... If your hanging with Gabe than I'll have to give you the benifit of the doubt.
And here I was going to tell you I'll get my truck and race you... Full contact of course..
And I don't know about the spec V but the Duratec(5 sp) with a chip (to get rid of the governor) will keep up and hold it own with a 2000(ish) Mustang GT. I wouldn't totaly count out the 2.3L. There's a lot of potentiol there.
And I always pick on PZEVinside for having and auto
I still think over 100lbs is more than a little less, shaving 100lbs from your car is pretty significant. Granted an autotragic is one thing, not exactly stellar rocket power, but the Spec V hasn't exactly gotten rave reviews for any of it's apparent abilities.

Another thing, apparently you don't understand the difference between "PEAK" hp and what a redline means. The redline is just the factory set or engine specification set limit to the RPM range and is in no way a means for basing your Peak HP numbers, most cars hit peak HP before their red line and will actually see a decline in HP after the peak. Hence why dyno graphs very rarely look like slopes and look more like hills. So perhaps you should learn HOW to read your graphs before you go saying something like that. The SVT focus can be set for a 7K+ redline that doesn't mean it changes the placement of the peak HP number. And 4000 RPM isn't pulling the line, you want pulling from the line try a diesel, making all their torque at about 3K. And that 250RPM difference is going to mean nothing when weight is factored in. By the way after reading the person with the Autotragics posts, I don't see anywhere that he said V spec.
