Shanghai, March 12th 2006 - The 2006 China Circuit Championship (CCC) has just finished its first stop race here in Shanghai today. Being the first time participating in such a race, Changan Ford Racing has made a solid start with a top ten result and fastest lap time in the race. Racer Kenneth Ma achieved the best single lap with his 2’28’’566 result. However due to minor transmission problem he dropped out in the middle from the 3 rd place position. Team mate Henry Lee completed the whole race safe and sound.
Changan Ford Racing was just set up this year, and for the first time participated the CCC by choosing the most competitive game of 2000cc race series. After watching the whole race, Mr. Phil Spender, President and CEO of Changan Ford, said: “CCC is the most high-profile circuit race in China. Being the first time participating such a race, Changan Ford Racing has still space to improve compared with those experienced racing teams, in the respect of both racing cars and racing experience. With the best lap time and a top-ten result first time out, we will keep improving and look forward to the next race at Zhuhai next month.”
Ford Focus racing car has outstanding driving performance and achieved good results in worldwide motor sports games. Since this is the first participation of such a high-level racing game in China, it may take some time for the team to adjust the car to the local field and weather. Same for the racers to conduct sufficient test drives and preparation. Racer Kenneth Ma was satisfied with the result of today. He said: “In the coming days, we will work together with the technicians to further improve the racing car and get best familiarization with the car. We are confident to have better performance in the next race in Zhuhai Stop.”
