I went with the intention of getting some work in on my launches. My goal being to get the traction I need and hopefully run a 14.4 - 14.5 and to break triple digit trap speeds.

I had some major issues with traction last time but ran above normal trap speeds so its definitely well within reach and then some.  The car is well capable of low 14's, I just got to learn to drive it.  Ive been playing with the PCM and boost ramp rates trying to set the boost to come on in a more even manner and was hoping I could see if that would help out.

However, it was not to be. I hooked up with a drag bike racer I sponsor that runs in the SuperGas class and dials in at 9.90 and we were going to do some test and tune runs. But the track had an event going on for Saturday and there were a ton of cars there Friday evening. So neither myself or my friend were able to get any runs in.

We did see some interesting stuff though.

As best we can tell, after talking with the guy, he went out to make a run and forgot his wheelie bar. He stood the car, quite literally, on its rear wing. He came down hard and I was certain that he had destroyed the front end of the car, but the only damage was scraped up paint on the wing.

We did see another car in the same class and same design of car go into the wall. Traction seemed to be a major issue for everyone out there. This car took off, lost traction and about the 60' mark was in the wall and broke his rear end. I can only tell you that the sounds that were made when he hit the wall would have made one believe it was a crash that would have resulted in injuries, but the driver was okay and the only damage was some crushed side panels and the rear end.

This car is from Dave's RV in Claremore (for those familiar with the area). It was an extremely impressive car and turned in the fasted ET of the night screaming down the track at 6.83 I believe, I know it was 6.8 something. Turned in a trap speed of 211mph.

Now, what makes it all interesting is he too had traction issues. He took off, lost traction, got out of the gas, got back on it and flew down the track. The whole time he was either bouncing off the rev limiter or had one bad misfire issue and still turned in that ET and trap speed. I think it would be a little scary if the car got traction and ran smooth down the track.

So I didnt get to make any runs, but it was an exciting night.

Oh, forgot to add, they had a full blown top fuel drag racer there too, but he couldnt get traction either.

He had to get out of it shortly after this picture was taken.  Im quite sure he could have turned in a 300+ mph trap speed if the traction had been there.
