Well, last night, we had some snow - about 2 inches give or take.  I was on my way to work, as I always am, Mike (WRCFocus4dr) - my partner in driving "crime" saw the car on the bed on it's way home to our condo complex. We're always "winking" at each other as we pass in the morning.  I guess he saw me on the side of the road afterward too.

Anyway - 7:45am 1/20/05 driving 93N about 50mph, I snagged some slush that had been snow that had blown out into the road...it pulled my driver's tire into the deeper snow and then it happened - 180 spin and *SLAM*:

1 - my rear psgr side quarter slams into the guard rail first
2 - Car spins another 180 and front hits psgr side, then rolls around and crunches driver's side
3 - car finishes its final 180 and my ass is parked against the guard rail and  my front end is in the passing lane of a 3 lane hwy.

So, I will post pics and James has taken some too.  I'll have to give you updates, but I looked it over - Unless I'm wrong, my car is gone.

I'm ok - no injuries except my emotions about my car.  One owner (me) since Nov '01 and I'm heart broken.  I had an appt. for inspection this Sat. and I just sent in my registration...man, what a sucky day.

I'll be back.:(:(:(:(:(

Thanks Pokes, YOu would have thought, but I'll get some more pics so you can see the rest of it...she's hit all around...I keep crying.  Just got off the phone with the ins. co.  They'll be sending an adjuster around within the next 4 days.  I don't want to tow it and find out it's not repairable.  I need to start thinking about what I'm going to do for a car now.  Another Focus?  I sincerely don't want the new 2005, I don't hate it, but I really don't want that styling.

Everyone keeps saying that and yes, I know it's true, but I feel like I've had my guts ripped out of me without my girl.

here we go guys:

This is the front view, similar to what Mikey posted

This was my initial impact.  I had slush grab my front driver's tire and pulled me in and I spun 180.

Here is the view to my Driver's side - I'm not sure you can really tell, but the driver's door will not open - it is pressing against the quarter panel.

Here is a full psgr side shot while still on the bed.

Well, here you can see how my psgr side rear axle is f*cked up.  yep, I think she's a gonner.

Sorry about the pic size - I'm going to go cry some more now.  This sucks!  After my huge battle with my ex-husband it comes down to a fuckin' snowstorm.

Any suggestions on what I should buy next?

Chelly I am soo sorry to hear and to see what has happened. I like that car alot. I am glad that you are alright. But from the looks of it, I don't think that she is repairable. But now a days, ya never know.Friend of mine was on her way home from her friends house, she was driving a Toyota 4Runner, hit a patch of Black Ice spun the 4runner and wound up flipping ovah and crushed the roof in. Insurance won't wright it off and they are having this fixed instead of wrighting this off.

Oh NO!!!!

I am so sorry to see those pics. it breaks my heart to see that, knowing how much you loved that car.Im so glad to see your OK!!

Looking at the front , how it looks twisted, and how the rear looks so out of whack, it does look like a goner....but like Alex saidyou never know. Looking like that , i would want it to be totalled, it will never be the same.

If indeed it is totaled, you need to get another Focus, i couldnt see you in anything else.

Chelly = Focus

Good Luck to you, and let me know if you ned anything.

you could take the money from the insurance and get yourself a practically new '04 SVT probably for about as much as you'd pay for a new Focus. :) Always look on the bright side... SVT would be super nice :) Course not yellow or anything but hey... would you really complain. Jonny will sell you his :)

Chris - Thank you - you're right.  I love(ed) that car more than myself.  Spent a lot of time in it too.  If it is gone I will miss it and it's going to kill me to think of it sitting in a junk yard.  I used to talk to that damn car!  Ya, I'm pathetic, but when you think of it, who better to participate in a car club like this than someone obsessed?

Joe - didn't the '04 SVT come out with the Euro Package in Screaming Yellow?  I'd take that, but I really need to look at the fuel consumption situation.  Manual is the way I'll have to go, but I need to get better than mid 20's for mpg.

This car has brought me a lot of good and even bad memories, but I wouldn't know ANY of you, including and especially Dan, if I'd never have bought it.  I guess it's that whole "things and ppl. are put in your life for a reason"  some stay, some go.  it sucks this one has to go out like this.  I've never had an accident in my own vehicle before.  This is also only the 2nd time in my life I've been in one.

Happy B-Day to me!

Thanks to you all.  I think at this point I'm just going to wait and see what the adjuster gives me.  If he/she says total, then off come the special parts I've put on, stock goes back and I go on the hunt.
If they say fix it - it's going to Dan @ Starkey Ford.  He's the man and they won't throw my aftermarket parts away etc.  Great body shop down the street that they use too.

I will need a new Euro Grille at some point, but I think I'll wait to see what happens.  Maybe I can bling up the car if it goes into repair based on how much the adjuster gives me.

I've already been searching the internet for a replacement.  Found a few within a 200 mile radius, including an Orange SVT Euro package w/ low miles.  I'm not done yet.  I will keep you in mind though.

Or you are always welcome to buy my SVTF...

I'm shooting for a new home for them so you can still admire them in use.
But, if something changes there, You'll be the first to know.

Thank you for the offer Ara - I'm trying to make myself lean toward economy though...it's difficult to do with an open market.

I already have the paperwork in motion shoulld this be a write off, so I'll keep everyone tuned in.

ps - thank you all.  *hugs*

:( that sucks big time -- glad to hear you're ok though; in a situation like that on the highway, it could have been a lot worse.
