i'm just going by looks when i passed one the other day... are the 2005 hatchback tailights the same as pre-05 lights? mostly out of curiosity but also cause i'd love to get a new hatchback eventually and not lose these tail lights. lol

The rear end or hatchback lights are the same as the one's on the 2000-2004, nothing has changed. Front end of course has changed as well as the dashboard and the radio has changed. Pretty much everything else is the same, except for the engine and tranny(I think).

The funny thing is, I like the 2nd gen style they have now compared to the 00-04 1st gen style.  Don't get me wrong, I like both styles, but then, I had to go with what I could get.

the reason i like the first one better is that it was something different it started a trend over here most of the cars in the uk now have parts of them that are carbon copies of the focus

I think Ford is trying to get a more expensive luxury look to their cars with the 500, Fusion, new focus, new(old) mustang lol. Everything is getting more square and more of that generic crysler/mercedes or somethign look. boxy. ME NO LIKE!

00-04 Foci RULE! I just want a new one cause mine is base with no power or options. lol. But if i could, i'd keep mine and just add them. power window/lock, cruise, sunroof. that's my dream! lol. everything else is perfect.

They do.  The funny thing is, if I compare my old maxima to my ZX3, the ZX3 is soo much more smoother its not even funny.  The maxima, if I were to drive it again, I would be all WTF?

My only qualm with the car is the shifting.  For some odd reason, my car does not like shifting into reverse.  I have to push in the clutch, shift to a forward gear, then go to Reverse.  Or shift into Reverse before I start the car.  Very weird.

can this be done?  i mean, i know the sunroof would require cutting, but is the rest of it possible?

500 bucks plus instal for ford stock cruise control, aftermarket sunroon prolly 800-1000ish for an ok one. power windows/locks i hear is possible, but not really worth it.

P.S. i still may add cruise.

How about for power locks / windows and keyless entry?? Oh, and the OEM foglights.  This is all for the 2005 Focus.  Thats all I care about for getting OEM equipment.

IMO it'd be pretty expensive. You could always cruise a junkyard & look for parts. My wife had a nice electric sunroof installed in her '94 Bonneville, when it was new, 11 years ago. It cost $1500 then. I've had pop-up sun roofs installed in 2 oe 3 cars that I've owned & I liked them a lot. Can't remember what they cost, but it seems to me they were around $5-600.

last i knew, stock fogs for a 00-04 focus was like 100 ish. plus i dunno if it comes with a new switch to operate them on. I can only assume 05 focus would be similar. Buying them for 00-04 focus means buying a whole new lower grille (it's all one piece).

power windows/locks i've never priced. I asked Granite Ford about a nice sunroof/moonroof once and it was about 800 installed with a lifetime warranty and they'd need my car for 2 days. The one they were offering at the time would autoshut when u turned off the car and autoopen when u turned it back on (if it was open when u shut the car off) and also had a button to quickly open it to a setting you could change. so u could half open it with just a push. dunno y u'd ever half open a sunroof but it had it. haha.

fordracing sells the cruise control for 500 i think and their website recommends professional install. dunno if that's really needed or not tho if ur experienced.

Both cruseand fogsare available for the 00-04 as add ons from ford and come with everything. The fogs are closer to the $250 range tho.

As for power options. You would have to get motors for the doors, possibly new(power window style) window regulators, door lock module controll(or new ECU if its incorporated) and possibly the wiring if ford didn't put it in there already. It would be a chore to do.

the plan for my car is at the end of this month my boy nate with the black svt wants to put a new body kit on his car, and i'ma buy his old one.  so black svt bumpers all around.  and i've seen fog light wireing kits (on fordracind i think) for seventy five dollars.  (if my memory serves me)

i see that, but the thing i'm talking about is installing an SVT bumper that has SVT fogs already.  then i'd buy the wireing kit from them.  i think, unless we just swich the wireing harnesses from nate's SVT to mine...  we'll see how it works out.

as for the cruse..  i'm dissapointed to discover it's only for the 2.0 ztec.  and a price tag like that will definetly keep it at the bottom of the list.  there are many other mods that are more important to me.
