This could be fun, but I don't know if Dan will have his car out that early.

Not too far away either.

It's a 2.5 hour ride, but it might be nice to get out.

Dan needs to get himself aclimated to autoX again anyway.  I know I could use the break from all the moving and remodelling on the weekends.

Dan, what say you?  tentative?

We can certainly do that, I'm planning on leaving here around 6AM or so, that get's me there about 8:30, gives me a chance to see the course and get signed up and everything.  I intend to stay down there, but I haven't made any hotel reservations or anything, I'm probably going to call around sometime next week and make sure that if I do just happen to "show up" at some place that I'll have a place to stay.  I was going to rough it out in my car, but I'm thinking a good nights rest in a hotel makes a whole lot more sense.  And that drink is on we'll have to celebrate :)

I also don't know if Chris will be running in this, I heard from him a while back and he was doing alot of stuff to his car, so maybe he is and maybe he isn't, probably best way to get in touch with him is to PM him, I don't think he checks the forums all that much.

Dan, silly boy - date is in the subject - I would consider auto-xing the 2.3, but I still have warranty left and don't want to lose it - not to mention we need this car to live so we can keep commuting the 2 hours every stupid day.

That '68 would be a box of rocks! lol  Couldn't be as bad as that VW bus going around the cones.

Well the SVTf is still in storage mode, and I don't have any extra time to unstore it, but if Dan doesn't destroy the racecar at the school, MAYBE I might take a run up there and play in F Street Prepared.

I'm not sure if they do or not, hard to imagine they do considering some of the hopped up weedwhackers I've heard run, I'll check with them and see.

Buddy, that would be great if you made it....my son still calls you the man with the quickest hands and feet...

Quote after he drove with you last year at Storyland...."Dad, you should see him...I've never seen anybody shift so fast....and he did this thing with his seatbelt to hold him in place..."

Use these as a guideline is what I was told.  SCCA/NER at devens there is a 90db limit at 75 ft and at NHIS 94 dbs from 50 ft (virtually the same sound level). Otherwise we dont have one in the rule book. But... please listen to the warning above, we dont want to lose any sites.

So I guess it all depends on what your dB is taken, if you are talking 95-97 at 75ft then it might be an issue, where was the dB taken?

I'm under full throttle coming around turn 10 to turn 11 at NHIS. The sound guy is against the outer NASCAR wall. So I think it's 50 feet he measures from. Weather has a big influence too on sound. 97 was my loudest and it was mid Summer, hot. So I might have to tuck the tailpipe under the body a bit.

It'll all depends on how well the car survives the school at NHIS the weekend before.

I wonder if that guy with the Cougar from Mass will change classes again when he sees me??

I wouldn't think that would be too much of problem then Buddy, at that reading you aren't terribly above the limits, and it's Storyland, there isn't anyone around to hear it.  If it were in the middle of Downtown Freeport, that would be one thing, but it isn't.  I hope to see you there.  As for the people changing classes, probably, that's the fun part, watching you make people look silly.  So tell me, if I could get a set of Azenis RT-615 in 205/50/15 for 80/tire is that a good deal?  I was thinking about a set of these to race with.  I'm waiting on a price quote for a set of the Kumho R-compound tires, I'm not sure which ones (the victoracers or whatever the other ones are called).

I get my tires & prices through http://www.tirerack.com. Kumho only has the Victoracers & the Ecsta V710s now. They discontinued the Ecsta V700s for some stupid reason. Teh Victors are about $128 ea & V710s $148 ea from Tire Rack (+ S&H). I use 205/50/15s on the EGT.
I think they have Falkens too.

yeah I've looked around online, Tire Rack doesn't have Falkens, and the places that do can't seem to beat 80/tire shipped.  I've heard good and bad things about the azenis, most of the bad came from it being used as a street tire, and since this won't be used as that...I've only heard good things about it being used as a race day tire, especially since it won't bump me up to STX like the R-compound would.  Next thing I have to work on is a jack, any ideas where I can get a decent jack just for changing tires at the autox.
