When I first started driving, gas was aroudn $0.69/gal maybe slightly more. Then I went overseas for five years and came back and friggin gas was up over $1.00 a gallon and then they had a small crunch and it went to $1.50 and people were screamin' bloody murder.
I remember when I first moved to Oklahoma, they had a gas war locally and the price got down to $0.79/gallon when normally prices were in the $1.50 - 175 range during the driving season.

It whines a lot, but I like it
That's one big rig Chris...nice, congrats...I just got rid of my 5.3L GMC Sierra 4x4 that averaged 17 mpg...the Si averages around 32 mpg...so it's a big change...luckily the my truck was paid off so the trade was pretty much an even trade with them giving me cash back...now when I get the $10,200 for the SVTF, I may have to look into some mods...With gas prices where they are, you need to save up for a few months so you can make it up to Maine for at least one auto-x...I remember when I started driving in 1976, I think I paid around $.58 cents per gallon..

While I understand PFF's point, I have to disagree now. Since the baby has come, there was absolutely not enough room for all of Lily's stuff to fit in the Focus. Granted I loved the little thing but when you're toteing a car seat, a stroller, a playpen, a big ass diaper bag, plus clothes to change her into if she got messy or dirty, there was no room for groceries or anything else. I am looking at a Jeep Cherokee. The gas milage wont be as great but I will be able to get all the stuff I need in the car. Plus I will have room for my sister or cousin's kids and the bigger ass car seat if I need to take them anywhere.
The little car was great for the childless or at least the babyless but right now, I need something bigger and something with four doors. That two door crap was killing my back...and my arms...and my legs...and my head. I dont know how many times I hit my friggin head putting her in the back seat.
