So yeah, haven't seen much going on around these parts, so I figured I would get an update on all my TNFE peeps.

Here's my scoop:

- I'm dropped out of school right now, and working two jobs.  I need to pay off debt and save money.
- I am moving to Amherst, MA in the middle of January to go back to school Full-time at UMass.
- I am still in Leominster, and can't wait to move.
- My focus has 56k miles on it and climbing... and needs a brake job BAD!!!!
- And most importantly... I had Chinese food for dinner tonight :D

So what y'all been up to?

Everythings well here. I'm in my 2nd to last year teaching bfore retirement, something that I'm truly looking forward to. My '02 ZX3 is fine. Just turned 60,000 mi. It's been absolutely trouble free, and I haven't done any major maintainence, except for having the cooling system flushed & filled. I need to get the Eagle F1s off & put the winter wheels on this week. It's really no fun to get caught with the Goodyears on if it snows even a tiny bit.

I've ridden the bike (bicycle) a lot this year, even for me. It's possible that I'll have 8,000 mi by the end of the year. I took a trip from where I live, 30 mi. west of Cleve., to Albany NY & back this summer. I rode to Buffalo with a close friend & his wife. We met some other club members, who had driven to Buffalo, and they rode to Albany with us. The other folks rented a van in Albany and drove back, but I decided I wanted to ride it, so I returned solo.

Every body in the family's in good health, so what else can I ask? Right now, I'm feelng happy, satisfied & fortunate.

Yeah, my '05 just turned 57k on Saturday.  I spent $560 and got the front rotors machined with new pads, the rears were fine.  I also got the power steering fluid replaced, the TB cleaned, and the fuel injectors cleaned.

My car is running like a champ.  My mechanic said that everything else is in mint condition on the car :D

Well...

I'm working for Time Warner - far too much i might add - in the Level 3 tech support
My car is over 75k miles and climbing
She needs help badly - power fluctuations while at idle, paint is badly chipped (used car when purchased) Need more Foglights AGAIN! Getting Re-Registered in Maine.
I turn 37 in January
I'm single
I'm helping to remodel my roommates house up here in Auburn, ME
I've been a loser slacker online due to the craziness in my life but i'm trying to redeem myself.
I'm hoping to have a party of some sort coming up this winter up here in Auburn, but I know many of my TFNE ppl. prob wouldn't drive all the way up here...but I'll still have a party.

Be safe and see you around on the Maine Turnpike between Exit 53 (Falmouth) & 75 (Auburn).

Ooh, and my girl got to test her winter sneaks this past week w/ 6+ inches of snow.

Awesome! I have some family up in Yarmouth, ME I can probably stay with if I come up.

Right now I am cramming for my Ph.D. qualifying exams, I have one every other weekend until I pass 4 of them (only 8 will be offered). So... maybe we can schedule something on an off weekend or shoot to meet somewhere in NH?

JBorden and I are busy designing new high-performance parts for the Focus Crowd:
http://www.HTPerformance.net if you all haven't seen it yet, please check it out!

I'll write some more later.

Cheers,
Brian

Well... was driving to the football party yesterday, when all of a sudden... BANG!!!, Clunk, clunk, clunk... cloud of smoke out the back (vaporized oil)!

Managed to pull into a rest-stop on Rt128S in MA.

There is a pretty decent sized hole in my block/windage tray.

So definitely threw the rod-cap/hardware. Just hoping that the piston isn't fused to my Port&Polished head. Otherwise I may consider droping in a stock svt motor and putting her up for sale.

We will see, in the meantime I'll get my Chrysler Cirrus back on the road for the Daily driver.

TTFN,
B

WHAT YOU DO!!!

sorry to hear this.

You make #3 on the TFNE list of broken rubber bands. Gr33nlemon (2000 ZX3) ended up with 2 holes in his block but could still start it. Figure that one out. Pokes (2000 ZX3) dropped part of her 100% stock motor on the ground at the Hampton tolls on Rt 95. and now you. I do hope this is it.

Oh I SO feel your pain on that one!! Seems to be something the foci like to do!!!!

So yeah, I havent been here in FOREVER! got the email from rick about things closing down so I thought I would pop buy. havent been around due to  the lack of TFNE going on. Was such a great part of my life I find it quite depressing that the whole group has gone to hell in a handbasket! (Dan... you are the only one i have left!!)

Things in my life have been crazy. Sold the Foci back in '06... Valentines day. Got me a nice mazda3 now. would have kept a focus but after the whole engine thing then the 4th ignition collapse I had enough!
Im going to school to get my masters so that takes up a lot of time. Getting married in August so thats taking up time too. Went to Thailand back in Nov so that took up the time before that. Yeah, Im busy and dirt ass poor... but its great!

Oh, and we (Bill-Murphyslaw and I) got an 01 Aztec over the weekend! Seems I have always had a thing for ugly ass cars!!

I like Chelly's list format so here goes:

PFF2 is in the shop, awaiting some parts (read: money) but a lot closer than she was!
I am in the process of a divorce, and dating a new woman who is awesome.
PDB's 4-1/2" exhaust tip is rusting off (I guess the tip wasn't stainless... at least the rest of the exhaust is!) and she just topped 20k last week.
I'm going to be moving soon, not sure where to, but it'll be cheap.
Oddly enough, I am working at the same place where I worked before I got married.
I'm selling my '47 Ford in hopes of getting PFF2 done by summer HIN.

So basically that is my life in not so many words.

Blew the head gasket on the focus as well as a couple of rings.  Gonna let it take up space in the yard until I have the $4800 for a NEW motor from the Ford dealership.

OUTCH!

Did you look into a junk yard motor. Might save a few bucks.

Better yet find a wrecked 2.3L and do a 2.3L conversion.

So many options.....

I tosted the clutch in the plow truck and got a nice cloud of smoke from both sides of the truck to let me know.

Oh ya... It was before this storm with 5" of snow with 2" of rain on top of it.

Wow, looks like life gets in the way!

Sometimes I wish Cars didn't have moving parts like they do...I'm soooo sry about your cars engine man...you are yet another casualty by hole in block.

Are you repairing, replacing or going for something completely different?

So, anyone else as sick of snow as I am?!!!!

Working on building a high-compression shortblock now. 10.8:1 JE pistons, Eagle rods, Clevite H race bearings.

Hoping that my SVT head is ok from the incident; since i have ~ $6k into it now from larger valves port&polish, flow bench testing etc...

If anyone needs a motor we can hook you up with a good price. http://htperformance.net/index.php
