ok so i just bought the 2005 zx3 but mine doesn't have the tach on it. well anyway I do have my guages from my last focus and there is a tach on that. the only thing i want to know is how do I change/reset the mileage on the older odometer? does anyone know or do I need to talk to ford?

The only way to do it is at the dealer, you can't change the mileage on those things yourself because of all the mileage fraud that could/does go on with used cars, rolling back the odo and such.

Not sure. It's possible they'd do it for you... but I dunno, I've never had to try it and ask?

I've heard that if youbring your old ODO with you and can prove your mileage, most will do it.

Take your car to the dealer

Have the other guage cluster with you

Tell them you want the tached guage put in replacing the non-Tach.

They'll charge you a fee (around $40-$50) and it will take about a week I do believe depending on if they have the equipment or not at their dealership.  The places that do this flashing have to be licensed by the state they are in due to the legal ramifications of ODO fraud.

I've looked into this in the past and spoken to my service rep at my favorite dealer.

Good luck.
