Meguires waxes just don't last long enough to suit me. I've used all of their waxes, except their new NXT wax. I've been using Prestone Liquid Wax for awhile now. It shines nicely, and lasts for a very long time.
Btw, in an emergency, Lemon Pledge will give you a pretty nice shine in about 10 min for the whole car. Smells nice, too.

I never ignore you hunny - I just have an over abundance of the TOTL carnuba and I've had it for nearly 3 years now..love it! I can say a few coats of that on my car lasts me easily 4-6 months, depending on the wash frequency and rain...f*ckin rain!

I agree Mr. V, I've been using Gold Class from Meguiars and although the shine is deep, it just doesnt hold up.
Zaino Bros. beats anything you can buy on the market. I have the seen cars at the NE-SVT car shows, and they all use Zaino Bros., and I just have not seen anything comparable to how those cars look.

I've found that Mother's Carnuba paste wax (pure carnuba, not a cleaning wax) holds up in the Florida heat. Used it on my Caymen GT for 12 years and the paint never faded.
The nice thing about pure Carnuba waxes is you can keep putting layer upon layer on your paint.
My philosophy about waxing a vehicle is, your results are directly reflected (no pun intended) on how much effort you put into it.

I used to think that, too. But I was much, much younger then. I do think that about doing the prep work, e.g. washing, clay bar, etc. Wax should go on easy/come off easy, and last a looong time. (JMO)

Agreed Mr. V - There is a lot to be said and had by doing the proper prep work. Your results and the effort to get those results will be less if you do the prep work and maintain the products.
Carnuba wax, alone, is a very hard wax. I'm not sure what the Meguiar's Paste has for a percentage, but, I would be very hard pressed to believe it would be a 100% carnuba. There are suspension agents used in there somewhere.
Typically, the higher the carnuba percentage, the harder the wax will get. The TOTL "Trade Secret" http://www.topoftheline.com/toltradcarwa.html product I use is 26% Carnuba and it is a solid, smells fabulous and little is needed for application. I have had the jar I use now for nearly 3 years and still have 1/2 left. I've done many cars and many coats. When you prep your car properly (CLAY BAR!) you use less product, thus making the cost of the product less of a sting. I mean, I figure, as often as I clean and wax my car, over the last 3 years, I could have spent MUCH more on other waxes than what I did on just one jar of TOTL "Trade Secret".
Whichever you chose for your vehicle, whether it be a Carnuba or a Polymer, prep your car for the best results. My system works for me:
Wash my car with a "Grease Cutting" dish soap (Dawn or other good dish soap)
Dry with my Absorber (I prefer this because it has worked for me and they are washable, keep moist in their container and last a long time)
Clay Bar (Clay Barring really pulls the nasty, embedded dirt & grit from the clear coat as well as helps to remove stains, tar, bugs)
If it's the beginning of the year, or end of the Summer - I like to level my piant to help remove any swirls or minor scratches as well as help revive the clear coat using the "Light Cut" product.
Wash the car again - to get all of that clay barring lubricant and leveler residue off
Dry
Wax - 3 to 5 coats (I tend to do more coats of wax on the front bumper and hood for a little extra protection from the oncoming evil it deals with on the roads.
I will be submitting my car's pictures to TOTL once I have done a complete Paint leveling with their "Light Cut" product and several coats of the "Trade Secret" Carnuba. I'll post some pics too and let you know if it ever goes up on their website.

It has also been talked about several times, that Carnuba waxes rather than polymers actually helps the clear coat since it has natural oils that will permeate the clear coat and keep it from oxidizing, this is something that polymer waxes don't offer (yet)
Re Chelley's comment: "7. Wax - 3 to 5 coats (I tend to do more coats of wax on the front bumper and hood for a little extra protection from the oncoming evil it deals with on the roads."
I agree but if a cleaner wax is used, all you're doing is cleaning off the previous coat (maybe a residual amount of polish is left), but 100% Carnuba allows you to build layer upon layer of protection. Big problem is... it's expensive.
Well, this is true - that's why my wax I bought me cost me $30+ a jar.
It has also lasted me, as mentioned nearly 3 years.
Just like cars, Products used on & in cars becomes personal preferance through expirimentation & experience. use what you like - That's the part I love about owning my car - I can play with whatever I want with it. lol!
