Please feel free to offer Information, Products, Tips, Tricks, Experiences & Questions regarding removal of this constant problem!

Just a reminder...some scratches are too deep to eliminate completely, but many can be subdued using many products both professional and OTC.

Hey Chelly , we kinda started talking about this yesterday. Can you recommend me a product to use to buff my car? It's not very old, only about 9 months but I want to keep her shiney. What do you suggest I use??

Have you used a clay bar on it? You might also look for some Novus Plastic Polish by Meguires. It's a very mild abrasive liquid that really works well on surface scratches. I wouldn't use it on the whole car, but if you have a couple of problem areas, it might work pretty well. It's very easy to use. You'll need to wax after using it. The car, I mean!

 Just a note Tiff - the clay bar is great and if you're going to do the buffing thing then you won't need to do it this round (unless you find a stain that won't come out with buffing *doubtful).

The product I have is through Top of The Line - it is their "Light Power Cut Paint Leveler" found here = http://www.topoftheline.com/hitligcutswi.html.

I have had the opportunity to play with it a little, but the real tests will be happening the weekend of the 12th & 13th - It is a fine cut, mild abrasive that works best with high rpm orbitals or professional buffers.  I have been using it with an inexpensive orbital with good results.  Mind you, I am going to go whole hog on Dan's Sony next weekend and we'll really see the results on an abused finish.
You are welcome to use it as well.  I have a medium sized bottle with pleanty to go around.

As for swirls on plastics - Say you have clear plastic lenses on an older vehicle.  You know what I'm talking about - They end up with that "yellowing" look to them.  Well, I've had excellent results with 3M's "Plastic Cleaner".  It is a fine cut rubbing compound that works by hand very well.  On my former vehicle - 92 Toyota 4Runner, my reverse lights had that yellow look and the brake lights were well oxidized.  I used a little bit of this on those areas and was thrilled with the results!  Wish I had pics!
From what I understand of the Light Cut product sold through TOTL - this can also be used on hard plastics, like bug guards and plastic light covers etc.

I would like to hear back from ppl. who use any of the products talked about in our forums and please, feel free to post your experiences here!  Don't hesitate to make a blurb refering to your post here in our "Product Reviews" section!
