I got about 150 miles of driving to do today, but when I get back I think I'll have to give it a try on the paint in an out of sight area. I would think the paint on a car being clear coated and all would hold up much better than what would be on some walls. I havent noticed it rubbing off any paint around the house, but of course the Magic Eraser is white and so are the walls. But I have never seen any evidence by way of faded areas on the wall. Ive purposefully marked on my walls with pencil when I was hanging all the pictures (had to get all my lightning pictures put up) and once I had the hangers located Id go back and take off all the pencil markings and never had anything wear through the paint on the walls.

Well I spent a good part of the day detailing the car, among all that was cleaning all the trim off with the Magic Eraser. I must say that I am highly impressed with just how easy it is to get the residue off with that thing. I mean, hardly any pressure is needed to take it off with the Eraser. I got so inspired I was cleaning things under the hood, around the car, inside the car and if I could have gotten under it Id bought more and done that too and I did the rims with it as well and that thing was pulling off little black specs I could never get off with washing. It even got into some small, fine scratches on the rims and reduced their appearance cause it was able to clean the dirt out of them.
You are correct Chelly, I wouldnt recommend it on paint. However, I did test it in a couple areas. I have to say though from the spot tests I did, if the paint aint clear coated dont use it there it will certainly pull it off. If it is clear coated use the least amount of pressure you can to get whatever it is you want to get off. But in general I wouldnt use it on a paint job and in fact Mr. Clean recommends against it. But where I tested it on the front bumper it easily removed bug debris.
So all the trim on the Kona is once again back to black, praise God. It looked really really nice to have that stuff black again. The mirrors, the front and rear lower trim the hatch trim the rocker panel trim even the black trim that runs along the roof all black an no wax residue. I felt like going to whom ever decided that bike tread trim was a good idea and giving them some wall to wall counseling a couple times in the process, but it too is all done. I does destroy the Magic Eraser in quick fashion though. It took one whole eraser for each side to get it all cleaned out.
Once I had everything cleaned and dried I went back over it all with some Orange scented (I miss orange blossoms in Florida) Pledge and gave it a final detailing and cleaning. I ended up using about 8 erasers primarily because I did so much on the car and in the engine bay too cause those things are EXCELLENT at getting into the little pits and such of about anything and cleaning out the dirt.
I would advise that if you do use the Magic Eraser to use a soft terry cloth towel and a tooth brush to clean out all the little bits and pieces the eraser leaves behind as it gets used up. Other than that it made quick work of getting the trim back into shape. Heck I even cleaned the wipers with the thing. It does a very good job in getting things clean. If I had had more time I would have taken some pictures. But I got the Amsoil booth in the Darryl Starbird show this weekend so I doubt that will happen. I also got a BMK-14 to install for the transmission fluid and Im hoping in the next week or two to have a 2.25" exhaust to install with a flex pipe and I need to clay bar my baby and get a good wax job on here for the up coming storm season. Its getting time to go play amonst the lightning bolts again.
Anyway, thats my report. If you got built up wax residue on your trim, the answer is the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Oh, why Im at it, and since I dont want to dig up the post I made on the use of Pledge in the engine bay, I'll say that if you get a chance to detail your motor with Pledge, do so, it works extremely well. While wiping down the engine bay with the Magic Eraser I check all that I had used the Pledge on a few weeks ago and all of it was near perfect. By now with using Armor All or something like that I would have a pile of new dirt on everything I wiped down with it. So Im thinking I'll forego the bright shiny appearance and just use the Pledge so it all stays clean longer which will save me a bunch of hassle.

ArmorAll is gross, I'll have to give the Pledge a try next time my car gets a good all-around detailing (hmmm, March is coming soon, maye it'll get warm enough)
