Today I got up & rode 30 miles. I was feeling terrific, so I decided to work on the cars. It's the 1st time since school let out that I've even thought about cleaning them. I ended up claying and waxing both cars. Also did the interiors, including shampooing the seats and the carpets.

Funny...I don't feel so terrific anymore.;:what

Not bad for someone in their 60's, huh?

Not bad at all!!! I would probably collapse from exhaustion/dehydration even thinking about biking 30 miles man... course I haven't been on a bike in 8 years, but still!

I definitely identify with the aches and pains of a good day of detailing though, my back and legs get all kinds of angry when I spend QT with my car... luckily my arms are spared, but my I feel old after I detail!

Congrats though, on the ride and the car, I'm sure it appreciates the good old cleaning, even if you're paying for it now! By the way, I've never shampooed my interior, do you have a machine for it at home, or go someplace with such features?

Nope, I do it by hand. I use a product called Kwik 'n Brite. Not sure on the spelling. You can sometimes find it is stores, but a more reliable source is their web site.I use a minimal amt of very hot water & a brush, then vacuum thoroughly with a shop vac.

Yup. It's actually amazing stuff, IMO. It comes either in liquid or paste form. You mix the paste form with boiling water. I also use it to clean the carpets. I've been using it for years. It's advertised to clean pretty much everything, e.g., windows, laundry, floors, walls, etc. But the only thing I like to use it for is carpet & upholstry. It says it'll remove everything except paint & red Koolaid. So far, I've found that to be true.

Great stuff. It is to carpet cleaning what Rain X is to windows.;up;up;up

Sounds pretty amazing! Do you prefer the paste or liquid, or do either seem to work well?

And what DOES take out red Kool-Aid (except Comet), I swear they put some crazy stuff in Kool-Aid, it stains Everything! I think my mom's counters still have pink circles where she didn't attack them with piles of abrasive Comet back when my brother and I were kids!

Paste & liquid are the same stuff. Only diff is the liquid is premixed & comes in a spray bottle. I like the paste, because you can mix it using different strengths & it seems to last longer. BTW, it's spelled Quick 'N Brite. You can search for it on the web.
